So glad I had the Zunsport grills fitted - yesterday I hit a large low swooping bird at speed!
The grills did a great job of preventing damage (not to the bird!) and limiting the mess it could have made...
To be fair - It wouldn't have been as bad as these examples...
And definitely not like this one.!!!

A question please re the Carnewal Remote Device - I used to turn it on and off (on the remote) from time to time to ensure that the valves didn't stick on open. This was suggested by Gert when I first bought it...
Since I've had the S/W by-pass pipes fitted, I hadn't used the remote for about 5 months. Yesterday I thought I'd use it again as I used to, but now the valves don't open and close with the button. Does this mean the valves are now stuck open?
And could this cause me a problem or are the valves different in the new pipes?

Mines are also stuck on open . It has been like that for around 2 years . No problem , other then not being able to close them . It allowed me to take the Device off and still have the valves on . Dealer seems to say that it is not uncommon .

Chris Meredith, head of ABP Motorsports, who fitted my Sharkwerks exhaust by-pass and Zunsport grills, rang me yesterday. He has sold his 997 Carrera GTS (for more than he paid for it 4 years ago!)
He returned his car to stock pre-sale and wondered if I was interested in buying his 'front-splitter' - at a very good price.!
Below is a photo of his & mine showing the cosmetic value of the splitter. I was concerned that it may cause a problem with speed-bumps etc. What do you guys think - are the improved looks worth the possible pitfalls??
Opinions would be gratefully received....

I really don't mind the looks of it, but I wouldn't really opt for it. It's not really within the spirit of a GTS to add wings/splitters imo. Part of its charm is its clean looks.

Also I would be worried about the possible aerodinamic changes it may produce at speed, since the car was aero balanced without the effect of the lip, the now greater downforce in front may produce less stability on the rear. You may need some speed to notice it but still, why mess with it in my opinion that it
Really surprised he got over sticker price for it 4 years after, is that normal in the GB market?

Thanks Keith..
One thing I've only just noticed, in the above photo, is the difference in appearance of the headlights on the two cars...
Must be due to my speccing "Dynamic Cornering Lights" on mine..?

Can't really answer your question Carlos, but 997 GTS models do seem to be holding up well in value.
'Hexagon Classics' have quite a few 2011 examples which are selling for circa. £73,000 plus...

Enmanuel:John! glad to see you around. You're the third person I know that has mentioned to me insurance rates going up. Even mine went up and I'm not even driving a sports car atm... sadly
Global inflation that has raised part prices, labor costs, and hospitalization costs. This what happens when governments print money and increase deficit spending. Modern Monetary Theory is a destructive joke.

MMT’s primary societal impact is to increase wealth disparity. I am clearly not an economics academic but I could predict what a curve of GINI vs deficit % of GDP over time would look like. Not pretty for those trying to maintain the lifestyle they had even 5 years ago.
You are spot on.

I just re-did mine in London, went up 10% yoy. Used a broker - Peart Performance. Carbon Insurance was also helpful in the past. No affiliation with either but both will give you a quote within 24 hours.
