    could someone please help me find out if the new SLK is going to receive 63 engine ?? My girlfriend really likes SLK55 but I'm not so sure about the future of AMG models....

    Probably not. The chasis can't handle that amount of horsepower, not to mention the engine bay .

    I doubt we'll see the 6.3 in the current SLK. Maybe in a facelifted version in a few years?
    I'm just guessing.

    The current 5.5 makes the SLK a very fast little car. If it ever got the 6.3 it would be capable of doing some serious damage to a lot of very high performance sportscars (even if it would be mostly in straight-line acceleraion).

    I still don't see it happening, but I hope I'm wrong and they do it.

    Here's a cool shot of the new engine testing. I can only imagine how easily it can melt rubber right from tip in!

    Bah. I drove an E55 today. Nothing beats a full-sized Sedan beating the crap out of a red 360 Modena

    I like the older CLK myself although its not a car I'd buy. Looked good though. The nose on the new one just looks short and dives down at the front too much. It's not ugly, but not for me.

    I think that we will see the 6.3 in a SLK. One of the reasons they developed the motor was to have a platform to build around. I think the 5.5 will be phased out sooner than we think. 1-2 years max. Only makes sense from a manufactuing point.
