    First Post...........Anywhere

    Experimenting here as I've never posted anything, anywhere before. Stumbled across this through link in another forum and found some interesting reading. Now to the fun part. MB dealer called today and my 06 SLK 55 was built on 6-1-05 and is awaiting transport. Can 8 months of new car fever be healthy?

    Congratulations on your car. Did you order it with the M030 option ?

    Is 8 months of new car fever healthy? Of course not! But it is a reasonable sacrifice for the car you really want. The last car I ordered took over two years to come in! But, I love it. It's exactly what I wanted and the wait was worth it.

    Not sure what the 030 is unless it's the "tweaked" version. If so, no. I ordered it as an 05. It's Obsidian Black over black with the 319 lighting, 320 entertainment, and 326 premium options. Not sure I would have sprung for the tweaked version as it seems a little high for what you get. I am looking seriously at Kleemann for the LSD and possibly blower/intercooler but I need to let my play budget grow a little. Besides that, from everything I'm reading, the car really doesn't need it except for bragging rights.

    I'd support the Kleemann idea since Kleemann is a Danish company , but a friendly advice would be to focus more on suspension and less on power.
    You're getting yourself a luxury cruiser and adding more power will just make it faster - on the straights - but not nessecarily more fun, especially when cornering.

    Maybe straight-line speeding is your thing, in which case I'd support getting the extra brawn. Otherwise, optimize on the suspension.
