    @ Fritz: LOL

    @ deedee: You're wrong: Vicky hated the slk55 because of its numb steering and bad handling(she indeed said she would have more fun walking around the track), BUT she liked the SL55 it's only drawback was it's huge price.

    No it was a 987. Accept the fact that there are several cars that will perform well in handling and many improving every year. The SLK55 happens to be one.

    If you own a 987, avoid competing with the SLK55AMG.

    I test drove the SLK55 after I test drove the 987 S and I was quite disappointed....the steering feels like it's been OD'ing on novacaine throughout its whole development, it has an automatic tranny which in my opinion wasn't very responsive...I don't like the exterior - it isn't as proportional looking as a 987, looks like a toy car, an RC car at that, it didn't sound as thrilling as a 987 S and it also felt damn HEAVY around sharp turns on the highway...

    Basically, it seemed like it was a grand tourer suffering from heavy pretension, trying to be a sportscar...it has fast acceleration like a sports car..too bad it doesn't handle like one

    The SLK has a slight edge in interior quality/design, and also in stock audio (HK 7.1 vs BLOSE)

    Isn't it funny that we're sitting here comparing a 50,000$ 987S to a 190,000$ Merc...and the Boxster still doesn't seem to be beaten.
    Says a lot IMO.
