2005 ML AMG with 462 bhp???

    Watch out Cayenne....

    Woshhhhhhhhh....

Re: 2005 ML AMG with 462 bhp???

Then what will happen to SLK55 and CLK55?? Since the new 6.3L V-8 will be introduced and I guess the current 5.5L compressor engine will be replaced by the time. Anyone have an idea about the future of AMG? RC, anyone??

As far as I heard, they plan to offer all engines in almost all cars with the exception of the A-class, B-class, etc.
So there is a good chance of more power in the CLK55 and SLK55 but as long as AMG doesn't limit the weight of their cars, as long as they don't significantly improve traction and as long as they don't offer a more direct steering feel and better suspension setups, this "monster" power is worthless, useless and won't sell.

Well, it DOES sell but rather to people who look for an extrememly powerful and comfortable Autobahn stormer, more powerful than most rivals.

If you ask for turns, buy a Porsche!
Mercedes cars were never made for turns, that's nothing new...

A combination of wishful thinking and being naive to expect Mercedes to be like BMW M or Porsche.

ML63? With current gas prices I wonder if OPEC is the biggest supporter of this project...

For real?? So,only after one year(or maybe two), SLK55 and CLK55 will be replaced by SLK63 and CLK63?? OMG, that's insane!! I am really tempted to try SLK63! I think SLK55 is really a nice-looking car.

Re: 2005 ML AMG with 462 bhp???

The 65 engine is relatively new. Numerous sources have said it will remain as is, maybe with more power for the next models series of S/CL/SL. It has 3 vales per clylinder. Only the next genration of V8's V6's and I4's will feature this new technology and all of them will feature 7G tronic.

There is no transmission at Mercedes-Benz that can safely handle the torque of the 65 engine, therefore it shall remain with 5 gears until a restrengthened 7G Tronic makes it debut. This is around 2 years away. We have no firm information when this will make its debut in the top AMG cars or possibly the Maybach and SLR as well.

And it wasn't even our AMG representative who "re-freshed" it!

Bilal is right about the 65 variant. They invested a lot in development, I would expect it to continue for at least two more years - or unless the 600 should be discontinued!
