Re: rear boot lid spoiler for e55 amg by mkb
okay i bought my e55 several monthes ago after waiting 15 monthes,i could not test the car before i placed my order because there were no demos or any e55 available, not even a catalogue, but after having 3 previous amg models and being delighted with them i thought lets go for it,power is fantastic, auto box superb, but i did not feel the car was aggresive enough, its to quiet,my c43 was alot noisier, the brakes are weird, you get no confidence from them, and the looks i felt made the car look very understated,so i thought about changing to a rs6 or porsche 911 turbo,i picked the demo audi up on saturday for a days test driving, first impressions, build quality not as good as merc, comfort not as good as merc, seating posistion was uncomfortable, sat nav display and dashboard looks cheap compared to merc, sounds better than merc, handles better than merc, but did i want to lose Pounds14,000 on my car in 3 monthes and pay the dealer another Pounds5,000 to change i think not, after dropping car back to audi, the dealer said you will know if you want to change when you get back in the merc and drive home.It was like chalk and cheese the merc feels much quicker, more refined etc,so i have decided to keep the merc but try and make the car look more aggresive as the audi is much more in your face and shouts look at me,so iam going to fit a small boot spoiler,19" wheels and also look at doing something with the brakes, and also take it to amg for the lsd option, this then should make the car in my opinion what it should of been like from mercedes in the first place,my freind has a s55amg and the cars are very similar and my opinion is that the e55 was supposed to be a m5 beater in every department including looks etc,i wanted a car that was quick, looked superb, sounded superb, handled fantastic, and at the moment the car is about 80% right,if i wanted a limo,i would of bought a s500,i will post some pics of my car when ive got it right, there will be alot of people that disagree with my comments, but iam a motorsport enthusiast and i like my cars to be different and stand out in a crowd and not to be understated.Iam even considering taking it to brabus to sort out but i think i might have to sell the wife to afford it ha!ha!.One things for sure i dont think i will be looking at any other manufacturer for sometime, but i have bought a early 911 turbo for a bit of fun.
