    Whats going on with the CLE/CLS

    Ive hear d so many different things from so many different sources. It sounds like it'd make for an awesome coupe/"four door coupe" but there is no real evidence that this thing even exsist and the pics that are supposedly spy shots of the car look more like 05'/06' S-class mules???????? If anyone has any reliable info on this car please share!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

    Latest info is that production starts next year.
    As far as I heard, the official presentation to the public is scheduled for the IAA 2003 in Frankfurt in Sept.

    Latest info is that production starts next year.
    As far as I heard, the official presentation to the public is scheduled for the IAA 2003 in Frankfurt in Sept.

    But the car we will see in frankfurt will just be a concept-car. And I don't think, that the final CLS already can be produced next year, I think the beginning of '05 is more probable...but it's just a guess.

    Keep in mind today the time between in which a conept is intorduce and then put into production can take place rather quickly. Take for example the new Ford GT, that car only took a year to develop. While other cars such as the SLR take a long time to develop into feasible production cars. It all depends on a million different things. I can't wait to see what the concept is going to look like, if past concpet cars from MB are any indication I don't think I'll be let down!

    Today I received the following time schedule regarding the CLE/CLS from one of my sources:
    1. style study at the IAA 2003 in Frankfurt
    2. the "real" thing at Geneva 2004
    3. production starts latest in 2005

    Yea RC, it'll have a kerb weight of 1950kg and the NA 5.5 V8, how quick is thaaat!

    I and everyone else dont want that to happen, sorry! How soon will potential customers be able to place orders for the car i wonder? As well as how much will the styling will change between concpet and production car? This is just too exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    It doesn't matter now, V8 kompressor transplanted into ANYTHING, makes that car sing, pretty darn loud in fact.

    It doesn't matter now, V8 kompressor transplanted into ANYTHING, makes that car sing, pretty darn loud in fact.

    I truly do believe that the wheels screw(for the lack of a better word) up the rest of the car! I really didnt like it at first, but I absolutely love it now! However I do believe that Benz can make some small changes to make the car look better; PAINT THE DOOR HANDLES!
