I like to look at red Porsche, Carlos GTS looks great but I would never buy a red Porsche because it calls to much attention. Actually I would never buy any red car for this reason, like yellow, red it's a color that screams "look at me"! The only car I would buy red is Ferrari (I know it doesn't make sence after what I said ) , but Ferrari just born to be red

A rare post from me
I've ordered a 991.2 Carrera GTS today - Manual, RWS, Ceramic Brakes, LED headlights, GTS Silver Alcantara pack, Carbon Buckets Seats and F+R Parking Sensors. I'm hoping to get Ultra Violet (991 RS colour) approved on PTS as mine will be a MY18 build. I think the Ultra Violet and black details of the GTS will work really well together as well as the silver/alcantara interior. Thoughts on spec?
I've decided to trade in my white GT4 for it as I think the GTS can do both the weekend fun car and odd track day very well. The GT4 is fantastic, but my spec anyhow is more track focussed, no nav, clubsport, buckets, manthey geo, no leather etc etc... so hence the limited road use.
Hope I'm doing the right thing as the GT4 is special, but doesn't get much use other than a few track days, hence the change of plan. Anyone else moving from GT4 to new GTS? I'm not interested in the 991.2 GT3 as I'm holding out for the hope of a GT2 RS. GTS manual + GT2 RS would be the dream garage for me.

Congrats! Great choice!
Yes, I am in a similar situation. At some point I will move from the GT4 to a 991.2 GTS or 991.2 Turbo S... but I will get a used one. Far too much depreciation on those cars.

Sadly I will have to downgrade and get a less extreme and more sensible car now when I am becoming a family father

I know what you mean, but depreciation is the norm and I think (hope) the GTS will fair OK, certainly better than Turbo/Turbo S. The GT2/3/4 cars are now an exception and very had to get new now in the UK as a result. GTS should be fun though.

Interestingly, watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKD2fNVP7kw earlier today, and the 911.2 GTS does sound compelling.

A very interesting and unique spec I hope you get the UV paint . I would love to see that . I am also very interested in your feed back about the manual once you will have driven it a few month .
Maybe you should reconsider the Carbon buckets ? As a car you will use in the city and as often as possible, getting in and out of them could be an obstacle on some short trips in the city , no ? I love mine in the RS, but for a car I would drive mostly as some kind of DD , I would take the sports seats . Also , you will loose the back seats . It will also be hard to sell once you want to get rid of it . Unless, your car will be driven more on the track and only be used for spirited week end drives

I think the carbon buckets that come on the non-GT cars in Europe aare the older folding carbon buckets (that allow back seat access) that first came on the 997 GT2. These seats are not approved anymore for road use in the US, so we only get the 918-style LWB's in the GT cars and no bucket option at all in non-GT cars.

Regarding the bucket seats, they are folding so yes I will definitely be keeping the back seats, otherwise it starts to become a GT3 wannabe. I've had these seats on a few cars now and they are great

I said it before: Porsche needs to up their game and apparently this is exactly what they're doing. Slowly but it happens.

I've been following Rennteam for some time and Its high time I contributed something!
I picked up my 991.2GTS a couple of weeks ago and have been more than impressed. I've recently had a 991.1S and 991GT3 but this is my first 991.2. The engine has virtually no lag and the pdk box is very close to the pdks on the GT3.Instant. As mentioned on here the new Pirelli tyres are a significant improvement. Having put a few hundred miles on it I can see how it did so well at Hockenheim. Best of all it comes is a standard..ish 991 body. Very understated!
Congrats. My first 911 Turbo (996) had 420 hp. The 991.2 GTS has 450 hp. Nothing more to say...the Carrera has really reached an amazing level of perfection and it sounds better than any stock 911 Turbo.
