    That's my favorite view....so sleek.
No way there is any lexus in there....

    Me too!

    Re: '06 Imola -

The styling may be questionable, but the performance sure as hell won't be!

The more I look at it, the more I like it, especially the front end and the rims. The headlights are, IMO, too close to a lotus elise's for comfort, and the rear buttresses make it resemble a pickup truk. But my opinion on that is changing as well. Another thing that bothers me is the rear cooling (I think) duct which looks as if they took it off a P Cayman. Worst of all, IMO, is the back-end. I don't think the double lights work very well. Two big ones as opposed to 4 smaller ones make it look cumbersome...

Come to think of it, I still don't like it... I desperately want to ADORE this car, but as of the moment, its just not gonna happen. I really hope it grows on me, because I'm sure its gonna be an epic car, and it deserves to be credited!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose...

BTW, this is a random observation, but isn't the rear brake calliper closer to 12 o'clock than usual?

Wishful thinking to say the least. The Imola doesn't compete with the 997t. It will have a base price twice that of the 997tt. Two totally different leagues.

    I agree 100%!

It would have better street presence if it had four taillights.

    Re: '06 Imola -

Farina, look at the picture of the mule. What about the rear light next the real one and under the fake one???

Like I said before, Ferrari will not respond to these pictures and will give the first information to there members first about the new car. About the F430; the first pics where taken in Mexico by a local while they were doing the commercial film.

I hope I'm wright with the back-end because to me it's to soft. For me it's a shop of a 612, GG50, Corvette and Lexus. A real good one. Nice wheels.

    Re: '06 Imola -

    Same for me..

    Re: '06 Imola -

Most of the time a car looks better in the flesh than in photos. I remember I never liked the look of either the 612 or the 430 until I saw them in person.

I see a bit of SC too. I do believe that it will look much better in the flesh.

Is it only me, or does anybody else see a SLIGHT resemblance to the 365 GTB at the rear in this shot?

Question: are two single and relatively small rounded rear lights enough for all the different light bulbs?

Looks a little bit like the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione BTW...

    Re: '06 Imola -

geertf60, i think i must disappoint you. I've looked over the shots again and again, i've looked at so many details ... they are real! The details are so perfect and i know photoshop well, but this quality for the three pictures takes hours and days. I think with the back of the new car ferrari is trying to change it's current look because this lights exits for so many years.
Perhaps a person who works for ferrari or the studio has given us this secret shots...

    Re: '06 Imola -

Although I quite like it without beeing overwhelmed, I think in the flesh it will look "dramatic" as Patriek said. The same apply for the 612, looks dull on pictures but IMHO quite stunning in the flesh.

Besides, because of its deepness and complexity, a Pininfarina design has to grow on you. I remember back in 1992 as the 456GT was released and showed for one of the first times in the Paris Auto Show, I heard a lot of people in the crowd saying they didn't like it much and that the 512TR looked better. Nowadays the 456GT is considered as one of the best looking Ferrari ever.

    Re: '06 Imola -

    Farina,

If it's true than I think it will be the last time Ferrari will work with the studio. Strange that Ferrari have not given a statement or info on their members page. I'm still not convinsed about the car.
We have to wait and see.

Look at www.channel4.com for a video of the car on the Nurburgring

They've only make it looking more dramatic by using photoshop.

Farina, can't believe that people are questioning the authenticity of these pictures!! Maybe they were leaked by somebody, but they couldn't be more real - all the details noticeable on the test mules are there, including the seats (maybe Giugiaro used these in his GG50). Only by studying the test mules was I able to generate my sketch, which is why I was close.

All of Ferrari's recent media pictures have had some heavy-handed (and unnatural-looking) touch-ups to add some highlights - just look at the blue 612 pictures! The thing about this car is that it looks good in the pictures (compared to the 612, which on the road is quite impressive) so on the road, this car be just stunning.

BTW, has anyone noticed that the "flying buttresses" are a "flow-through" design? Kind of like on the F40 and 348/355 except, instead of feeding the engine, these will direct the air to help the flow remain attached to the quite extreme rear window. Very nice.

Stradale360, thanks and yes I'm in Mtl.

    Re: '06 Imola -

I see a future flip top targa and/or full convertible version from this angle if you follow the rising line on the side and the big butt rear end. Front engine location allows easy incorporation of three-section retracting metal top as seen on many cars .

    Re: '06 Imola -

In fact Ferrari have recently patented a folding roof design.

About big butts, I guess Porsche owners know that better than anyone...

    Re: '06 Imola -

Yeah I bet a retractable roof will become an option down the road. I love this car. The only thing I am not crazy about is the wheels. But they could grow on me as well.

    Re: '06 Imola -

Ingegnere, as i said it before again and again: the pics are real! I agree with you that I can`t understand the others who don't believe that. You've done a great job by studying the prototypes and made this great sketch.
The new car is beautiful and will create a new ferrari-look for the future.

I've noticed that too. This is a detail which a like from the F355.

    Re: '06 Imola -

guys it's real just had a confirmation from my friend in ferrari, he says also around 100kg less and 340 kmh...( like the article in italian repubblica today)
but he agree that it's look is not good in the pix ...but it's another car for real he sais....we'll see soon all the specifics..

    Re: '06 Imola -

the thing ive noticed about this car involves the rear window.. it looks to me as if it goes throught the rear roof line coming down all the way to where the doors are located.. you can notice the shadow, indicating the window curves inwards.. and on the second picture you can see the lines matching up.. hehe.. just thats what it look like to me.. enlighting me if its true

    Re: '06 Imola -

    forgot the picture itself sorry

    Re: '06 Imola -

Now I know, where I've seen that butt before: the 275 GTB which just turned 40 years...
