    Re: new 997 TT pics!

Sorry but this is actually the first time I wouldn't like double exhaust pipes. The 997 Turbo already has so many inlets, the double pipes would add some sort of visual "disruption" of the whole design, can't help it. I know this sounds weird but this is how I feel.

    Re: new 997 TT pics!

Ceramic coating of headers is a common aftermarket process, so why not ceramic coated exhaust systems to mitigate heat?

Porsche hinting of a 0-60mph time lower than 4 seconds might give the TT a 0-100mph time of 7 something. Thats progress!

If the 997 TT has a 0-100 mph time of 7 seconds or slightly below, a lot of people would be very very happy. Including me of course.

    Re: new 997 TT pics!

    that would be great !!!!

Do you think the "S" will have dual round tips...?

    Re: new 997 TT pics!

    RC,

I had heard that the tubi exhaust was already in advanced development for the 997 turbo. I am sure aftermarket exhaust will be available, not sure if it will be an improvement over stock but there will be many to choose from

Thanks for the good job but dual exhaust pipe won't just fit the Turbo.

    Yep,

Aftermarket exhausts will become available-of course, it will be incumbent on the makers to demo. that the materials won't melt under all that heat. So buyer beware. And the heat issue will also jack up the price of those exhausts, as well. Just my opinion-I like the 997TT tail and don't mind the pics we've seen of the exhaust-and at least there's only one horizontal strake on the side intakes-looks like they co-opted the Techart design, though. I'm just crossing my fingers on wheel options.

0-60mph hopefully will broach sub-3.5, I bet 0-100mph will be 7.5-8.0, also brisk, CGT-range. But hey, the party line on this forum seems to be that 0-60 times are "meaningless," just a number for tire tread engineers and Ricers. Well, I'll see if my 996TSCab post-mods. goes 0-60 and 0-100 and quarter mile faster than pre-mods: Same vehicle, just different headers, exhaust, hoses, blow-off valves and airbox, with the engine flashed and the max. boost bumped up on the K24's-when I GPS it this spring. Same kerb weight, same tires, same road and conditions.

    Re: new 997 TT pics!

...If the turbo can come in 0-100 MPH below 8 seconds its insane; the CGT at 3100 lbs with 600 horses can only do it in 7 flat...the Z06 does it in mid 7s. F430 mid to very low 8s...

    Re: new 997 TT pics!

This car looks like it was designed by 5 different car companies. At least the 996 TT was not nearly as disjointed as this monstrosity.

I still don't understand how they get away with charging over 130K and then put Mustang-style cut-out side vents on the vehicle.

    I agree with that
