    what new technologies can we expect on the 997?

    LED lights in the back?
    swiveling litronic/xenon lights?
    Heads up display (BMW M5 and Five series?)
    night radar? (or woudl this add too much weight)
    more aluminum/titanium parts?

    active cruise control (using radar to follow vehicle in front - from new S-class)

    - PDC both in the front and at the rear?
    - Electrical folding mirrors?
    - key-less go?
    - start car with a button?
    - more enhanced damper settings than sport/normal in the pasm... A la ferrari (snow, ice, race, normal, etc)

    My wish list would include OWNER friendly software so I can connect my laptop and see what's going on.


    Would be especially nice to see motronics settings indicating I'm getting the premium gas I'm paying for.

    Absolutely! Even to observe (but not touch) the settings would be great. See what exactly PASM thinks it's playing at, look at the Bose settings, perhaps a fuel consumption vs time graph... Or indeed fuel grade indicators like you say MMD.

    On the basic trip computer side of things, I think it's really off that you don't get things like journey time elapsed - I used to have that on my old Golf for heavens sake. That'd be an easy software upgrade. How about it Porsche? Not everyone opts for PCM.

    Journey time elapsed is already there.

    Some kind of new spare tire technology that does not take much space , there have been no real advances in this area so the spare was just eliminated , many would like an alternative . The thought of being out in the middle of nowhere at night on a long road trip with a flat and no spare creates stress that takes a little fun out of the driving experence .

    they should download the entire manual into PCM, then hv a good/intuitive interface for searches & adjustments.

    but b/f that, they should allow switching off the stereo w/out having to turn off PCM.
