I do keep a Taser under the seat on long road trips you can find yourself in some interesting places sometimes and if the top is down you are kind of vulnerable to more than with a hardtop

Sometimes extra ammo and water , but nothing else important and nothing ID can be stolen from if the car gets stolen.
Identity theft is big on the west coast. You can take your proof of insurance and registration to a copy center and shrink them yourself onto one two sided piece paper. Keep it in your wallet instead of the car, or just take the proof of insurance. If you are stopped by the police in the US, the most basic NCIC check will tell them who the car is registered to anyway, so its really meaningless to carry the registration docs around anymore. Its just a antique custom.

Gun in car? Routine for some people. The insanity is that anyone would admit they carry one. Sorry. It's just asking for trouble.
Why?
Some professions make it a necessity, IMO. And it's concealed- so how would you know.
Sometimes I really forget how much I should appreciate living in the UK. It's nice to be reminded.

Yeah, I'm sure the UK is great! Look forward to visiting soon.
The USA isn't perfect but it's still by far the place I prefer to live. Sorry for OT.
