    Re: 997TT - New pics??

These pictures will surely sell a TON of used 996 TT's now.

Gag it's fugly. Still needs work.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Hey Eric, new product idea.....what about bumperplugs for those fog lights?

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

They should have taken cues from the 993 Turbo instead.

I'll have to wait till I see it better to pass judgement because at it stands, I can't stand the front end.

Here, i did a quick photoshop: I dropped the whole front bumper by 1-1.5" and moved the fog lights into the middle. I appologize for butchering the side where the foglight once was. What are your guys thoughts on these changes?

definitely an improvement. prob more aerodynamic too.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

I am very disappointed with the style of that car. I hope I will wake up tomorrow to learn that the 997 Turbo doesn't really look like that.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

rather complicated-looking, and, rather simplistic too...

    feels like 4 cars-in-one: a top-half, bottom-half, front-half and back-half~~~

after staring these past couple hours, i actually think the biggest flaw is the headlights--
they're too recessed as an assembly to an otherwise-aggressive front bumper-area--
if P could "pull" the headlights forward a bit (thus also increasing volume of storage under hood with touch of height) it would make the entire look more flowing and eye-pleasing (shades of the 998 anyone???!?!?)

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    What a wasted opportunity

Bringing the turn indicator down and making it smaller is nice , I bet that will be part of the 06-07 997 facelift for all 977"s .. one of those little marketing things Porsche always does to make you feel like you have the old model . After this front end grows on you the old turn indicators will start to look large and dated . I am sure the marketing department has thought long and hard on how to make the most profitable move . The time Porsche must spend on the planed obsolesces seems so unnecessary , just give us the real deal all upfront and make the same car for 4 years .
I hate to bring it up but this is what is nice about the Ferrari way of thinking they bring out a model and do not hold back on the design and trickle out little changes over the 4 -5 year model run with the marketing games that Porsche seems to be playing since the 996 came out .

The 911 Turbo has always been the "beast" in the sports-car world, not the beauty.

I do not agree the 993 Turbo was both and the 997TT could have been again with a little more aggressive styling ... I do not see what all the camouflage was about they really were not hiding much .

Am I being a little too hard here

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Me likey! And the more I look at the photos the more I like it! Better than I expected! When is the release date for this beast?

    Great find Lukas!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

I guess that these pictures we saw a long time ago were very accurate ,, back then when they showed up no one really liked it , now many seems to like it .

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    WOW!!

    I like it,it seems futuristic..

the rear is aggressive and the front lloks great!

    good job!!

maybe i come back on my ideas...

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Maybe it looks better in person. I hope so.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

can someone photoshop the color to BLACK please. Thanks.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

These are the first pictures of an NON-camouflaged 997 Turbo. I can confirm it 100% now. This looks 100% like the car I saw last week in Zuffenhausen at a distance of 5 meters !!!!
    CONGRATULATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, whoever took these pictures hit BINGO!!! These are the first pictures of an (almost) NON-camouflaged 997 Turbo, I can confirm it 100% now. Finally. The front may have been "photoshopped" but it is pretty accurate, if not 100% real. This looks 100% like the car I saw.

    Good shots.

So, is the single horizontal slat in the side vents behind the door final?

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Disappointing, to say the least. Rear bumper looks like it was designed by Gemballa, front looks like a mess.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Like very often with new cars, I don't like the 'different' features.... but the more I look at it the more I start to like it. I am convinced that with a little bit of time and when I see the real thing, I will love it.
Look at the Cayman... people where very critical with the design when they saw the first pics. Now most people like the look.

I TOTALY AGREE with you Lets pray this beast will be REALLY FAST....

The new 997 GT3 is much better..

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

The WHOLE car looks DISGUSTING!!!! WTF with those fogs...I'm at a loss with what Michael Mauer has done after Lagaay

Actually, the rear reminds me of the Ruf RT12. I really like the car. It means business. If it goes as fast as it looks, then TTS, here I come!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

the pic of the gt3 in black.....is much nicer.
but let's wait to see them for real....

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Porsche Make this car AT LEAST 520 HP with the SAME WEIGHT OF 996 Turbo and let me tune it if i want for 50 more hp and I dont care about anything else...

Well.........to each his own but I know a couple things about good lines (and good looking Pcars)......and I'll go out on a limb here and say that this will be a 'discussion point' for some time.
    I still can't believe it.

    You better believe it.

Guys, why don't you wait until you see this car LIVE in front of you? Give it a chance. The controversial discussion is already a good thing because Porsche cars were never "everbody's darling" regarding looks.
The 997 Turbo looks spectacular and very aggressive when you have it sitting in front of you. Only thing which worries me: I hope that the performance stands up to the looks, otherwise the whole exterior would be just pathetic.

I remember the comments regarding the 996 Turbo, not much different. First time the Turbo hit the streets, people were starting paying a 30000-50000 USD premium just to own such a car. Just wait until you see it, it looks good and there ain't many "friction points" as we say here in Germany. Oh and I forgot to mention: you guys don't really think that these pictures appeared without a purpose? They are way too good to be just the work of a talented and patient press photographer...if you get my point.

I also want a Sport lower suspension package, Ceramic Carbon brakes 380mm, carrera Gt seats, short gears and a very good heavy clunch..

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

first impression ,i dont like it at all,but like rc said lets wait to see it live to give a final statement...
is this the work of Michael Mauer ,or these are the remainings of lagay???

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Agree completely with RC! When I first saw pics I was also not very moved but, as I said before more I look at it more I like it!
Since it will have (only!?)480hp let's really hope it will fulfil our expectation in terms of performance.
RC, do you think Porsche will offer X50 power kit immediately since 997tS will be out in late 2006 or early 2007?
    Thanks!
    Branimir

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

i dont believe the car will be 480hp. if they make such a mistake, the Porsche marketing team will have made the best gift to Ferrari...

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Those new wheels will be a nice option for a C4 or C4S .

I don't really understand this statement..
Why? The F430 has 'only' 490hp, and MUCH less torque. Ok, it will be heavier, but not by much, the 430 is quite a pig too.
Is TEN hp, 2%, a signifficant difference? Especially when taking into account that the TT will have VTG?
