And also without the front plate as well?

    I'm no ps master but...

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

that's my next car!!!!! great pics.
the 997 is the best car porsche has ever build. (imho)

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Are the hips wider than 4S or is it just an illusion because of the side air vents?

This is a MEEEEEEEEEEAN car!! Great find Danny G!!!.. These pictures really convinced me! Just awesome IMO!

I think this one beat the 993 Turbo in terms of looks and after starring at the pics I even start to like the fog-lights... I think porsche have done it again! I will drool in Geneva

The rims are cool as well.. and imagine the 20" and 21" which will be an option...

    could that be possible ?

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Why ron burgandy, why!? I hate you... I hate you ron burgandy!!! (kinda disappointed in the way the 997TT loooks).

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    Thanks, Danny G! Great pics.
I will go to Geneva to see it in person!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    Looks very "TechArt".......

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

The rear wing looks like techart.

I like very much the looks of the car.

    Scary?

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Black looks great. I love it!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

The car is very very beatiful. I am impressed. Lets hope that if Porsche wants to make this car 480hp to produce at the same time the 997TTS in order to be able to choose...

then all are going to be huppy.
I will be very disatisfied if i have to buy the 480hp and after a year Porsche come back and shows us the Turbo S .

My dealer told me again today 480hp...

Rc was more optimistic before a couple of days, today i felt he was a little bit nervous with the power of 997TT

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

By the way, the car with the front chin spoiler and standard side skirts painted will look even better.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Even just overnight i'm beginning to like the whole car, even the front end; especially after more pictures surfaced especcially the ones by Danny G and the other black ones. I too like the wheels however it may be a while before they say 'turbo' the way the twists did.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Everyone said they hated it last time they saw it on the original thread from a few months back - and now it seems like the majority are in favor! Nuts!!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    the car is perfect!!!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

It's already an agonizingly long thread, but I'll share a few thoughts:

First off, I'm baffled by the "incredulous" criticism, considering the FACT that the 911 Turbo has been the least-beautiful 911 since 1996.

Therefore, this ugliness issue is nothing new. I actually like this new car a bit better, except for the cheesy Eleanor-style fog-pimples.

The 996 Turbo was the red-headed step-sister to the rest of the 911 line, you just accepted it to be able to go faster.

There's simply no way to put lipstick on pig-ugly scoops, cut right into the heart of the sexiest area of a 911, the rear hips.

I never liked the holes in the 993 either.

The holes in the hips are akin to strapping a tool belt to a swim-suit model. There's just no good way, that I can think of, to sculpt a duct into the 911's voluptuous hind-quarters, without totally trashing the sexy shape. So get over it. You've gotta have those ducts on the turbo, and a non-turbo variant will ALWAYS be more attractive, less butchered.

The classic 911 shape just doesn't accomodate scoops like the Ferrari shape does. I've tried to visualize dozens of different scoop designs in my head, for the 997 turbo, and they all look like crap to my imagination.

I think the rear wing, as rear wings go, is brilliant, and compliments the car as best as you could expect.

I also think the rear styling is bold, aggressive, and not overly aftermarket-ish in my eyes. I like it I think, and it will just be the more conservative anti-change-aholics that will take some time to soak it in.

The front is fine, but the fog lamps are awful. Just awful. Fast & Furious Eleanor styling has no place on a $150K Porsche. The photochopped alternative that was presented is better, definitely. I also think that the way the fog lamps were integrated into the Cayman is a brilliant and attractive design. So, for their flagship, they give it those outboard eyesores??

That is the ONE AND ONLY thing about the new Turbo that has me surprised, and shaking my head.

The rest of it is well done, considering the cooling needs and aero needs that have to be accommodated, and it's no surprise that I don't like it as much as my C2S. The n/a 911's have been the prettiest for years now. If I could justify the cash outlay for the extra performance of the Turbo, I'd have to deal with it being a hacked-up, spoilered-up, overwrought looking car, that goes really really fast.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

more i look at this car and more i love this car!!!!!!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

I don't see a Sport Chrono lump on dash...if so, an impvmt. Like new wing vs 996TTS wing...

IMO, will look appropriately intimidating in blk/blk w/blk painted wheels....if N-ring time backs up looks....

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    I missed this thread

I have to say that it looks much better than waht I expected from all the camo spyshots. The rear is just what the "Turbo" needed. Thos fog lights don't look too good but they seem like they will flow and merge with the bumper much better in person.

All in all, better (more agressive) than what I expected, and these are just the first-photo impression which is always not very favorable to a car, so "in person" it will blow people away IMO.

Now, did you guys look at the HUGE difference in ride height from the black car at night to the silver car?
    - the black car has ambar turn lights, buperettes, normal red brakes, sun roof and rear wiperand,
    - the silver car has Euro-bumper, no sun roof, PCCB and may have a X73 or -20mm type suspension...

Could the silver car be a 997TurboS?

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Am I the only here that doesn't mind the looks of the foglights? I'm not in love with it but I think it looks pretty good. I think we all need to see it in person to really tell if overall this is a good design. And then, of course, over time, we might change our opinion of the looks. I can't wait to see more pictures of a black/black 997TT and of course see it live.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Interesting how we have non-camo pictures of two different 997TT's coming out at the same time.

Bumperettes and amber lights...could be a U.S. model??

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Okay... after having time to simmer down.
Besides the horrendous disjointed front end...
Why is it that Porsche insults us with cheap scoops that are cut out of the rear quarter panel? Is $150K not enough money to manufacture the entire rear quarter with the scoop??? A lot of the reason Ferraris look expensive is due to those subtle touches. I Photoshop'd the image so you guys could understand what I mean.

Totally agree.......no excuse (other than cheaper to build)....we all know that.....Porsche knows we know that.....yada, yada.

    Well, guess who is responsible...
The press release is near...a day, two, maybe a week or maybe a month. But it is close.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

I love the rear!! What an A$$!!! Beautiful car, very pleased with the design. Lets hope the power figures dont dissapoint us.
