    Re: Hopping front end syndrome....

what i meant by before the braking zone is that it happened in a straight line while on the throttle. the car was unsettled for about 1-1.5 seconds.

    Re: Hopping front end syndrome....

You guys better run to your dealer quick and get the your hopping and bobing front ends fixed right away.

My 997S and all of the other "S"s I've driven don't exhibit the phenomena which you describe on track or off, smooth tarmc, undulating or bumpy with sustained speeds to 155.
    Rock solid!

    Re: Hopping front end syndrome....

I bow to your superior knowledge JJBlade. I was going on my experience with my 996C2, a friends 996C4S, my C2S plus everything I have read about 911's over the last 30 years.

The phenomena they describe has been well documented by several outstanding British auto magazines, AUTOCAR, CAR & TOP GEAR. I doubt a service call will do much good.

Acura TL faster and more predictable than a 997? LMAO. You're joking right? The Acura may be faster and more predictable for you but, no offense, I'd say that is obviously more related to the driver than to the car. After three PDEs and several thousand miles on my 997S, there is no car I find more predictable at speed than a 997.

Thanks so much for blaming me, rather than the car. Given your vast experience and training this obviously the case.(Mild sarcasm)

I was nowhere NEAR the limiting speeds of either car, on this very undulating and smooth road. 90kph, often with too much trafic to really go beyond 120kph. I repeat, and this is entirely consistent with the comments of Editor Pete Stout of 'Excellence', who is likely to be as 'good' a driver as you: the surprise of the PASM, is that a road one knows with a non-active supsension, changes its character when the active suspension firms up on some undulation significantly, less on others, and left-right firming on others. I was merely surprised, on this highly unusual piece of road, more undulation than a corner. I will have to drive it many times with the 997 before I can be as 'comfortable' as in the non-active, and thus go much beyond 120kph.

So lighten up the 'driving' skill and find a piece of road that surprises you as this surprised me.

    Re: Hopping front end syndrome....

I solved this hopping issue by switching to sport PASM mode. I guess I'll use that mode whenever I'm on the freeways.
