    Full cost of having PSE retro-fitted in the UK?

    I've read many posts celebrating PSE on a 997S and wondered if anyone in the UK has had it retro-fitted. If so, at what total cost?

    No idea but stick a Tubi on it for about 1200 quid.

    Does that mean retro fitted pse is not available in UK.
    Cant believe noone's had it done.

    Don't know anything about Tubi! Would it affect the warranty in any way?

    No the Tubi exhaust will not affect the warranty. If you start changing things like headers etc then maybe but otherwise no.

    It might do if the back pressure is different from standard and internal damage results. I wouldn't fit one without discussing the potential adverse impact upon my warranty with the Service Manager at my local OPC. It's too late to find that there is a problem with warranty cover after the damage is done.

    I can't argue with that point as I have no idea about any change in back pressure. The exhausts have been tested on some Porsche racing cars (can't remember which team) and they suffered no problems, so I will take the risk just for the noise

    Had the question answered today. A UK OPC dealer has priced the job at Pounds2040.00 fully fitted and including the on/off switch. Apparently it would take 3 days to complete.

    Anyone think it would be worth it??

    Absolutely no way. However since most of that cost is the labour charge for fitting the switch you could just get the exhaust fitted and no switch. I can't see the point of the switch anyway?

    Thanks JJBlade - I'll check on the price without the switch!

    I actually thought the switch was necessary to revert to 'legal' noise levels should there be a need i.e. police checks.

    Converted to $3550 USD, that is on the high side here in the US. I was able to have it done for about $2800. So installation was about $800. No switch and it would have been $300 for installation. And I dropped it off at around 7AM and it was done by the afternoon. Also had the short shifter done too.

    No such thing as legal noise for us !

    Bikes have cans with 'not for road use' on them but car drivers can do what they like. The police might not like it but they never do anything about it. You should hear the Gallardo round here at night. It could wake up the dead at thirty paces

    No switch, the auto/electrickery/dampning thingy was kicking in between 28 and 45 mph but I did the mod straight away and haven't looked back since. It took one day to fit and it's definitely the best thing I've done for the car, you'll love it.

    What's the "auto/electrickery/dampning thingy"
    Is that something that comes with PSE when it's fitted?
    How did you do the mod for it?

    S'alright John, no worries. It comes with an auto cutout that operates between 28 and 45 mph, this is to keep the noise down a bit when your around town and stuff, it's a Euro regulation I believe. The mod is here:

    This takes about 2 minutes and stops the cut-out activating. So she's LOUD ALL THE TIME!!!!!!

    It's just wonderful frankly. If you are very gentle on the throttle you can still keep her pretty quiet so the neighbours probably won't hate you anymore than they already do!
