    Porsche: Race it on Sunday and drive it on Monday

    If I'm not mistaken this used to be a Ford advertising line but it sure fits on the Turbo! I just arrived from a Track day (plus driving 350km each way to get there) and UNLIKE my previous cars (Z3 1.9 and a Z3 M roadster) the car felt EXACTLY the same on the way back than it did on the way there, tight and robust! Heres a foto...

    In the wet yes but not on the dry... please got to the link below and check out my set up after dozens of hours of research and little money and with almost ZERO compromise on the road.

    Looks like you had a lot of fun, it makes it even better when your car comes away from a track day in the same condition you drove it there as you said. May I ask the reason for the tape on the headlights? I've seen this before but never knew the reason.

    This goes back to the 1950's and road racing.....the idea is that the tape would hold the glass pieces together in the event of a broken head light, keeping the glass from falling all over the track.
    Today, most of the lenses are plastic and they don't shatter the same as glass used to do, so it's probably not really needed. Though if you cover the whole lense, it may protect it from stones/debris thrown up by cars in front of you.

    I got the famous Europipe exhaust and some handling mods (see link above) and on the brakes I got a Sportec bake cooling kit on the way and some pagids for track action.

    On track my 996 TT corners like if it was on rails. Like on all Porsches, just ensure to deflate to the right tire pressures.

    I've read the link and was amazed about your knowledge. Isn't the Europipe to loud for normal driving? Are you going to drop some more power into the engine?

    Go to www.europipe.be and read all about it. Mine is the new EP1 which comes with the old EP1 sound level and EP2 power... The sound level is barely higher than stock and at idle and noemal driving and a nice growl at WOT just as it should be. About the knowledge...thank you but its y obligation to know pretty much all about it. I'm an Automotive Engineer and worked for a BMW racing team in England and had a great teacher (Teofilo Tuna) which is a track engineer for many people including Ni Amorim @ DTM, I raced cars both in England and in Portugal but most of all spent dozens of hours searching for other people experiences with this cars and jump my own conclusions...

    P.S an Europipe review is comin' up real soon...
