Re: supercharger installed, and car due back pretty soon
believe the preliminary dyno showed 430 hp/348 lbs. haven't gotten it back yet so haven't done any acceleration testing. it's not likely i'll be exploring top end any time soon :-)
Maybe this sounds dumb but why didn't you sell your Cab and went for a 996 Turbo Cab instead? The M96 engine is not very suitable for supercharging/turbocharging, one reason why Porsche went for a different engine to put into the 996 Turbo/GT2.
Re: supercharger installed, and car due back pretty soon
Ben, Looks great; and thank you for the rest of the C-GT pictures; too. I was there in Leipzig, with you; I'll never forget it ! Your '01 996 Cab needs the updated oil cap; especially with the supercharger installed. More internal pressure. The old caps could leak. Let me know if you can't find one....new cap style would look better and seal better. Take Care, Revvv
Re: supercharger installed, and car due back pretty soon
"If you don't mind my asking, how much does it cost ?"
$11k installed.
"What's the running PSI?"
5 i think
"I know Todd has one in his car for some time now, did you know of any reliable problems?"
none that i know of

3850 lbs does not a sports car make. besides, i don't like the way the AWD feels in the coupe. no thanks re: a turbo cab

I drive the car about 3k miles/year. We don't have an autobahn and the car isn't tracked hardly at all. But, if the motor blows, maybe I'll put in a GT3 one.

Sorry, but that was Ben, Fr. I'm not doing the GT Leipzig ride til 3/04.
Re: supercharger installed, and car due back pretty soon
btw, the reason i had todd at evoms.com do the work is that he has a pretty rich history of doing fantastic and reliable work. i made the "might switch to the GT3 motor if it blows" comment without any expectation whatsoever that the motor won't outlast my ownership - and then some.
