Rear Wheel Steering seems to become a thing now with sportscar manufacturers. They probably realized how amazing it is (911 Turbo/S had it first...talking about modern sportscars here).

Not only with sports cars . It will soon be on most cars . Renault has it now on their new sedan and it does marvels . Audi on the Q7 . It does transform the car in a very good way .

Believe it or not, I didn't know that. Smiley  Thanks. Yes, RWS is amazing and I wish my R8 (here we go... Smiley) had it. Probably in the facelift (Huracan Performante gets it, so the R8 won't be far behind).

The RWS on the Q7 made up for 50% of my decision to get that car . It makes the SUV feel like a middle class dedan ( size wise )

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

Yes I received my TDF a while ago now. Super super nice car. I was really disapointed in the 599GTO which I didn't keep very long, but the TDF nails it. More GT than Sports car but a GT with attitude, much better than my old F12 too. Ferrari's done a good job. The sports seats are horrible, the really shit Sabelt seats that they use since many years now, they really must changed them. But the drivetrain is awesome, and the TC perfectly judged to play with the car with safety nets. She's a keeper.

Glad to hear that, amazing drivetrain indeed (oh boy...770 hp at 8900 rpm...I can only dream of it). kiss

    Congratulations and enjoy. blush wink

I am not big fan of TdF because in my eyes design is too busy. It looks quite okay and subtle in grey.

Amongst the most desirable cars of the moment, congrats! Really good in an understated spec as well, looks too busy in red/yellow imo.

I don't understand the issue for manufacturers to fit good seats. I sat in a Huracan recently, horrible, just horrible. While for €1k/seat you can buy brilliant Recaro Pole Positions, why is it so hard to design something equal or better?

I agree, I sat in an Aventador SV and it had fixed buckets. The WORST seats I have ever tried!!!! My shoulders were pushed forward, sat too upright, I don't get it either. The same day I tried a regular Aventador with nomal seats and they were comfy. What a shit car though...

Recaro or OMP make excellent cheap buckets. It's like the bucket of the new porsches, 918/ GT3RS, etc. a pretty bad seat compared to the Recaro that was on the 997s, Carrera GT, etc.

+1 my 997GT3RS has the best Nomex Recaro I ever had !

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

I would always opts for the most comfortable seats in everything. As cool as some bucket and racey seats look, my back doesn't have eyes, but it definitely has muscles and joints.

Agreed, the buckets in mine are the best buckets I could ever wish for. Actually I find them more comfortable than any car seat, because it holds your body, and supports it everywhere, it's less tiring even than a big comfy chair you get in luxury cars. Ok you can't recline, but i don't feel the need to in that seat.

Same with the R8 sport shells, only the sport seats are OK. The sport shells are way too thin... Smiley

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

    http://www.motor1.com/news/131805/ferrari-sp-275rw-competizione-detailed/

Ferrari confirms SP 275 RW Competizione is based on F12berlinetta

Ferrari quietly introduced the one-off SP 275 RW Competizione at the beginning of the month in Daytona during the Ferrari Finali Mondiali event. Now, the Maranello-based squad is finally ready to talk about its latest bespoke creation that draws inspiration from the 275 GTB. The company’s Styling Centre worked together with Pininfarina to create the tailor-made prancing horse, which started off with the chassis of the F12berlinetta and then it received a wider rear track.

The retro-flavored bodywork is a nod to the 275 GTB through the engine bay vents, multiple side and rear louvres, as well as via the milled aluminum fuel filler cap. These are all reminiscent of the chassis number 06885 triumphant in the GT category back in 1965 at the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race, as is the striking yellow paint inspired by the Ecurie Francorchamps team color.

Ferrari has also made a few changes at the front where there’s now a hood bulge and vertically-stacked slim headlights created specifically for the SP 275 RW Competizione. Rounding off the visual modifications are the new 20-inch forged alloy wheels that you won’t find on any other Ferrari.

Further updates have been applied in the engine bay where the unique car uses the more powerful V12 engine of the F12tdf, so it has an extra 40 hp (29 kW) and 11 lb-ft (15 Nm) over the regular F12berlinetta. With 780 hp (574 kW) and 521 lb-ft (705 Nm) on tap, the SP 275 RW Competizione should be able to match the F12tdf’s 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint in 2.9 seconds and 211+ mph (340+ kph). We are making this assumption based on the fact that not only it has the upgraded engine, but also the F12tdf’s tweaked dual-clutch transmission providing 30 percent faster upshifts.

Ferrari isn’t saying a word about the car’s price, but it was probably way more expensive than the F12tdf, itself a special edition capped at 799 units.

Yuck! Is it a Maserati, Jaguar or a California? Who buys this shit?

Take a retro design, put in a big engine and limit the number produced and you will have Ferrari enthusiast salivating. Then charge an ungodly sum.mail

    Looks stunning!!

That how the TDF should've looked like.

It looks great indeed, while I do not like how the TdF looks.  I even like the color and I usually do not like yellow cars.

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

It's by far the best work of in-house design dpt since Ferrari parted ways with Pininfarina. As a matter of fact, it's the only product that has come from them that I consider (very) good looking. I would've gone with other rims and front headlights tho.
