    First Pics - Triple Blue 997 S Cab

    Here are the first pics of my triple blue 997S Cab. I was sort of rushed to get into the office this morning and the light was not great, so I'll take some better pics this weekend. But here ya go for now.

    Beautiful car U Boat Triple blue ? in the UK we have Lapis blue or maybe midnight which looks very similar to your triple blue?Also can you take some pics with the roof on please

    First thing I noticed on pic #5 is the seat position! Ouch! Knees started hurting just seeing it.

    Thanks everybody for your nice comments. I basically took a flyer on the triple blue combo and was a little nervous about it. There are more than two dozen silver or grey 996s just at my healthclub alone and you see them all over LA. So I just wanted to do something different. I had slate on order and then my dealer called me and told me I needed to finalize the order. I was going around and around on the color and finally just told him to make it triple blue.

    I went to my dealership Tuesday night half ready to walk if the color combo didn't look nice. When I drove up to the dealership the car was parked right in front of the front door to the dealership, waiting for me. I was shocked at how great it looked. If these pics look good, the car actually looks 10 times better in person. She's a real stunner. I'm going to take some more pics over the weekend, including pics with the top up.

    Nothing wrong with the seat position imho. Gotta sit reasonably close to maintain a slight bend in your legs with pedals fully pressed, and also want to turn the wheel in a 9/3 grip without losing shoulder contact to the seat, right?

    The supple leather is great. I don't know how you order a 997 without this option. It's a no-briner for a few hunderd bucks.

    As to the seat position, I've got a tear in my left calve muscle so I gotta sit close or I can't clutch. I'm 5'10" and it's a bitch to sit that close. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

    Thanks MMD. The break-in is killing me. I want to test the limits but I'm holding back for now (for the most part anyway).

    The winter in LA is great for driving. Mid-60s Farenthight and sunny makes for perfect conditions. I'm bummed that I've got to go to NYC tomorrow (30s and snow ) and leave my baby at home for the week.

    My only complaint so far is that Porsche screwed up and gave me black floor mats instead od sea blue. But that's a "high class problem".

    I'd just do what some of us do. Put 800 or 900 by-the-book miles on the car and then allow yourself 5200 RPM upper limit insted of 4200; makes it alot easier. Have fun in NYC this time of year is pretty nice with all the lights and window displays.
