    Im sorry, but im in love with the (Porsche) Dauer 962 Lemans

    This car is simply amazing and so out of my price range and driving skill I only live to be able to touch its low to the ground carbon/kevlar fiber body. I can't believe its looked over by magazines and media. Maybe because it was built in 1994 and looks like a enzo that got flatened and lost more than 500 pounds.

    730 horsepower and only weighing 2381 pounds.
    I heard Jochen Dauer had to reduce downforce to reach past 250 mph.

    This thing is street legal too if you could afford it (around 800,000-900,000 american dollars plus all the expenses like taxes and shipping which come out about a little over a million). With the rising interest of supercars like enzo and carrera gt, car enthusiasts have shown iterest in the older supercars that were raw and fierce and didn't have clients that wanted GPS systems or huge heavy sound systems. This things ran a 0-60 mph in 2.6 and reached 250 plus mph. The new bugatti veyron with 1000 horsepower is stated to match this, but with its huge size it could be easier said than done.

    Oh sure. This is basically a Porsche 962 that won leman in 1984 with Yannick Dalmas / Hurley Haywood / Mauro Baldi behind the wheel. (don't worry I don't know who these people are)It won alot of races in the US, Europe, and I think Japan.

    Mine too. One of my all time favorites. The reference for all supercars.

    All Dauer 962's are based on a REAL ORIGINAL Porsche 962 race cars that are then converted into road legal supercars, hence its performance and looks.

    Almost 10 years later after the Porsche 956 race cars were dominating Le mans, year in and year out, Dauer with the help of Porsche re-entered a 962, modified for the reigning regulations, in Lemans in 1994 and won Le Mans again before being banned in 1995.

    True but I think Singer managed to sneak a 962 into the 1998 race one more time thru a loophole where it won again right? I remember it was the 50th anniversary of Porsche at the Monterey Historics in 1998 and Porsche had recently won Le Mans again. I thought it was with a 962C.

    No, I don't have much of a collection anymore.

    I USED to own the 962, but I sold it and a few other cars to buy the CGT.

    At least I can find a time and place to drive the CGT more or less regularly. Not so with the 962.

    I really like that 2nd pic with the 911 behind it. That kinda sums up porsche in one picture.
