My New 997 4S Atlas Grey Pics

    WOW Love it.
Traction is incredible in the rain.
Ordered the new Carrera Sport Wheels but for some reason the factory changed it to Sport Design's - never mind I like them.

    Black Full Leather
    Rear Park Assist
    Electric Sunroof
    Sport Exhaust
    Sport Chrono Package Plus
    Coloured Wheel Centres
    Heated Seats
    Sports Seats
    Porsche Crest on Seats
    Bose
    CD Autochanger
    PCM SAT NAV
19" Sport Design Wheels (had ordered new Carrera Sport Wheel)
    Top Tint Windscreen

This is my 3rd 997, had an early S November 04 and then a S cab May 05 and now this. A lot of posters seem to advise against the 4WD but the wider hips really look awesome and the extra traction in slippery conditions is really noticeable when pulling out of junctions quick and of course the 4 has the "Electronic Brake Prefill" and "All Wheel Brake Assist" which are extra benefits not found on the 2WD version. I think the extra cost of the 4WD is better value than the extra cost of the Cab.

    Re: My New 997 4S

Hey, taht's my car! Model and wheels and color are exactly what I would choose if I had a zillion to drop off at the dealer.... excellent choice!

Very nice Persuader Blimey 3 997s in one year, you have been busy How do you find the PSE ?

    Re: My New 997 4S

    Beautiful car Persuader!

    Re: My New 997 4S

    Great looking car!!!!!
As you have owned the C2S and now the C4S, it would be interesting to hear a more detailed review about your views on the handling and feel difference.....

    Re: My New 997 4S

You are making me jealous and I just bought a C2S Cab. I tell you what, choosing between 997 Models is like choosing which of your kids you love the most - just impossible to do!

Having had a demo C4S for 2 days last week followed by purchasing my C2S this week I would say that both are simply amazing, you can't really go wrong with either. I really loved looking in the side mirrors and seeing those extra voluptuous hips on the Carrera 4, however, I was conscious about the extra width when it came to actually squeezing it into my new garage - it's going to be tight in a C2!!

    Re: My New 997 4S

what a pitty, i would like to see new 997 with Carrera Sport.........anyone has new photos of 997 with these wheels????(not Frankfurt pics)

    Re: My New 997 4S

Very, very nice, and those hips, phew, just awesome.

Since I have ordered the Carrera Sport as well (and my car is supposed to be on its way from Zuffenhausen), I was wondering if you were given a reason for this change?

Re: My New 997 4S Atlas Grey Pics

Hi Robbo. The PSE is great, I pulled off the brown plug to have it always on but have re-fitted it now as i like the option of a "Stealth" mode.

    Hi
I am not someone who takes my cars to the track so apart from my previous comments about the incredible traction all I can add is the following -
    - No understeer noticed.(but not tracked it)
    - Carrera 4 Clutch is definitely lighter(drove another at Porsche Driving Experience).
    - steering slightly more weighty.

It probably dosent feel as "chuckable" as the 2 wheel drive versions and it does feel slightly heavier to drive, however as an all season car that to be driven every day it is unbeatable. If you live somewhere where rain and slippery conditions are very rare then, unless you really want that butt, you probably are better off with the 2WD versions.

There is no other car to compare it with. What other car gives this rich heritage, 4 wheel drive, rear usable seats(children that is) and this amazing performance.

I would love to see more pics also. Seems more people are having a problem getting theae wheels on their cars. A friend was speccing his 997 for February build at dealers and computer would not accept an order with these new wheels on for Feb build so he's had to choose Sport Designs to get a build slot in that month.

No I was given no reason. It seemed to be as much of a surprize to the dealer as it was to me when the car turned up with Sport Design Wheels as it was definitely Carrera Sport wheels that were on the order sheet on the system. As you may have read in my previous post a friend has tried to spec his 997 for Feb build and the computer won't even accept the order with the Carrera Sport wheels - maybe they are in short supply, I don't know.

Re: My New 997 4S Atlas Grey Pics

Persuader: You sound like a cool guy and you sure know what you are talking about. Kind of a humble car enthusiast! I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming endeavors. Enjoy your new baby and many many more to come!

    Re: My New 997 4S

    great pics. thank you.
i too would love to hear a more detailed breakdown of handling, feel, weight, acceleration, etc. of the 997s vs 9974s and where you really notice the difference (if anywhere, other than the rain)! thx!

    Re: My New 997 4S

    Guys:
I have driven both of them. The 4S feels heavier and somewhat safer in the corners. Even on a straight line, it feels different, you just feel it under your butt, the steering wheel, etc. The 4S is slightly slower, to me at least. The S is more nimble and quicker and wilder and a bit sportier. In the S when you push the car, you reach it's limit much faster while the 4S gives you more room to push the car and still feel secure that you will not lose control of the car. I can not tell you which one I like more as I love them both, they both feel gr8 to me
