    What would you do??

I'm out of town, so I asked my wife to pick-up the CS (2 months old) from the dealer since I had taken it in to have some minor things repaired/adjusted that were not taken care of at the time of delivery.

I get a call from her telling me that when she arrived at the dealer, she was told that the car was not there - they had taken it to the body shop! Turns out that one of the lot attendants backed it into a post causing some "minor" damage to the rear bumper. Don't know what they meant by minor, but she was told that they need to replace the entire bumper!

I am obviously pretty p*&^#d off at them , especially since they did not bother saying anything until we were scheduled to pick it up.

My question is, what should I do? While it may sound dramatic, part of me says let them keep it and get me a new one...

    Re: What would you do??

Its two months old, I will demand a new one, or at least demand to be compensated for not having the use of your car, also demand a loaner, chicky sords, they should have phoned you and inform you of the "minor" damage.

    Re: What would you do??

    get Nick on them!

    Re: What would you do??

Damaging your car and not informing you immediately is not acceptable. How you handle it is up to you, but that can't be passed over as standared operating procedure.

    Re: What would you do??

Contact the salesman that sold you your CS and contact the Sales Manager about a new car and increase the pressure on everyone to please their customer.

    Re: What would you do??

If no metal was involved, meaning only the rear bumper (plastic) and some paint job, I would accept the car but also demand a PERFECT paint job. Caution: painting plastic parts isn't always easy, you should look carefully for any colour changes or "bubbles", etc. It should be PERFECT.

I don't think you can demand a new car, over here in Germany, the dealer would have the right now fix it. If no metal is involved (like changing body parts, etc.), this isn't actually a big problem. I'd also ask for a free loaner at it should be AT LEAST another Cayenne S.

It really depends also on your relationship with your dealer and if you want to keep a good relationship for the future. If you don't care about this dealer, using a lawyer may help but I'm living in Germany and I have no clue about US laws.

    Re: What would you do??

look very angry, ask for a perfect new bumper and paint job, and ask for one free service/oil change.

    Re: What would you do??

I would inform Porsche Germany about the way you've been treated, going to the dealer and show him how you really fell, because first you didn't buy a mini cooper or a honda jazz etc.... and even if you would have so, it's not acceptable and finally ask for a new bumper cause your car is under warrenty. Good luck.

I would ask for a new car to start, then settle for free service. I would be more mad by the fact that they didn't say anything.
