    Terracotta vs. Boxster Red

    I have not been able to see a terracotta interior in person, so I am interested in hearing from those who have. Specifically, I'm interested to know how Terracotta is different from Boxster Red. Is it more red, less red, more brown, less pink, etc.?

    If anyone has any comparison pictures, I'd appreciate seeing them as well.

    I always disliked Boxster Red. I have Terracotta, and love it. Going from memory of Boxster Red, I'd have to say that the Terracotta is, well..... Terracotta. It's vibrant, and is an orangish-red. But it looks very fresh and crisp. Boxster Red always struck me as looking dead, dusty and tomato-ey. Like what a straight-up red interior would look like after ten years of abuse and exposure. The Terracotta is more pinkish, and less orange, I dunno. When you describe it, it sounds like crap. When you SEE it, it looks just right, classic, clay-pot color, you could picture Clark Gable sitting in that shade of leather in a '57 SL Gullwing Mercedes. Check my Gallery for photos of my car...

    mine's also terracotta. it looks like, well... the col. of terracotta roof tiles (fm inside under sunlight). slightly more reddish under artificial light (i.e. at night).

    boxster red's more of a dull-red (& definitely more reddish).

    The cabriolet that they had on display in Detriot had terracotta.

    A friends car has terracotta. I think its ok. Can't see anything wrong with it. Never seen boxster red. So no comment on that.

    Personaly i liked boxsterred more.
    Terracotta is very orange imo.
    With a dark outside colour, i like it though.
    When you put black carpets in it it's nicer imo.

    i personally prefer boxster red ,its sportier . terracotta is classier and for me fits more a maserati quattroporte or this kind of car. doesnt reflects sportscar at all.

    Isn't it just the same color with a different name? I can imagine that it's kind off strange to order Boxster Red in a 911 Turbo, so that's why Porsche changed the name.

    I had Boxster Red and really really started to dislike it over time. Too orange in my opinion. I would stick to black, cocoa, sand or brown

    color difference is quite noticable when you compare them side by side (& IMO, terracotta is definitely more classic).

    Boxster Red does look "dusty" but to me that bumps it up a notch over the Terracotta. The red reminds you of getting into a much older Porsche. It is that kind of classic color. The only drawback to the Boxster Red is that the carpet looks too pink after time in the sun. I want to see how the Terracotta weathers with time, but my first impression is that it is far too orangy in color.
