    Check out my sketch

Not the greatest I've done. Tried to build the car aound the wheels so it has most of weight in middle.
Let me know what you think. I just started sketching so I'm not very good yet.

    Re: Check out my sketch

The door is either a kind of maserati birdcage type of think or its a wing that includes part of the roof. The roof is pretty much all glass except for some support beams. The middle has almsot three different layers as you can see. Its hard to illustrate what i'm trying to show but there is basically space in between the outer layer and the inner layer which consists of the cockpit. Hard to explain but anywyas.........hope you like it

    Hey dsts.
If you wanna improve your sketching skills, check out this link for some inspiration: http://cardesignnews.com/studio/tutorials/index.php

Otherwise check amazon.com for books on cardesign.
I bought a couple there ("How to draw cars like a pro" and "design cars like a pro".)
Check it out and keep it up!

Looks like a Carrera GT with fixed roof.

    Re: Check out my sketch

    your son have real talent!

    Re: Check out my sketch

To me it looks like a lambo diablo, carerra gt, back of an enzo all mixed together in the shape of a zonda.
By the way, do you guys really think its not a bad sketch

Depends on the age of the artist
Honestly it looks like something an 8-year old has made.
It lacks the firmness of design and clean lines that characterizes good design.

On the other hand - it only takes a few techniques to improve one's skills dramatically. So if you're the artist I suggest you check out the links I gave you and start building some routine.
If it's the work of your son I'd suggest you applaud the efford and make sure he keeps up the good work.

Not bad for starters. Practice makes perfect. I've seen Bangle creations that could have used your help.

Well i'm normally a terrible artist and i'm not very much older than 8 years old so i guess i'll take it as a complement.

    Re: Check out my sketch

is the artist 7 or 8? looks sorta like a cgt and a lambo.

Looked over one of the tutorials Dr. Phil gave me a link to and came up with this. Needs work in the front and the front lights are kinda wierd. Reminds me of the buggati EB110.
    What do you think?

    Re: This any better?

heres another where i fixed up the front.....

    Re: This any better?

    no comments??

    Re: This any better?

those are the lowest profile tires i've ever seen!

    Re: This any better?

    Ata boy, keep it up.

I'd say your latest drawing definitely has more Lambo in it than Bugatti, I'm not a big fan of glass covering over the engine bay ala Ferrari, but I like your engineering setup: rear-engine ala Porsche 911. Add some more curves instead of the sharp Lambo lines, maybe go back to your first drawing and beef up the rear spoiler-see the 997GT3 spypic on the 997 Board. Good effort, young man.

Yah, the glass covering came out really bad in the end and I was too lazy to keep changing it, plus what I was trying to show doesn't looks good from this angle nor does it make sense without proper color and contrast. I want to use more ferrari like curves, I'm not a big fan of lambo, but the sharper angles are so much easier. I need to learn how to use photoshop so I can scan it in and air bursh it or whatever. Since I started sketching my view of the lambo. designs have gone down while i'm even more impressed with ferrari, or even porsche to tell you the truth. esp c gT

    Re: This any better?

oh yah, btw, i din't bother drawing in the tires, something i've learned is that the overal shape is far more important then the little details....

    Re: This any better?

Keep up the good work! Definite improvement already!

You may also want to sketch existing designs- this may help you in creating new ones.
