    Ascari.......anyone know about this car?

    It also seys this car has 500 hp 5liter v8 but the redline is apparently 7200 according to some random site. That doesn' soudn right, usually a car that has 100hp/liter is 8000rpm redline, they probably made a mistake.though....

    I think it's another Lee Noble creation (along with the Ultima and Noble's).

    Hey its a Ford V8 in that Ascari. 7200rpm redline is enough for a Ford or Chev V8 for street use. If I am not mistaken, the same engines in NASCAR dont use much more thn 8000-9000rpm.

    Be happy. You can get parts anywhwere and a water pump wont cost you a gazillion Porsche bucks to fix.

    Jim,
    Could have sworn that the version Tiff tested on 5th gear had a BMW M V8 (same as E39 M5), but was massaged for a bit more horsepower. Could be mistaken though.

    The review mentioned nothing of Lee Noble, but if so, that's amazing that he has so many cars to his credit!

    Maybe Im wrong, but the engine specs read like the manual for a current modified Ford V8. If its a BMW unit, I would have thought there would be more mention of other electronic
    engine controls.

    A quick google trip reveals that the engine in the KZ1 is indeed from BMW origins. (And Lee Noble was involved with the prototype of the previous Ascari, the Ecosse)

    I think it does have a 8k redline anyways, and it says on their site that it is bmw engine derived

    Well, that's because most people will associate the name Ascari with a driver, Alberto Ascari.

    He drove between WW1 and WW2. The current car brand just uses (misuses?) his name, but has no real association with him or his family, as far as I am aware.

    Correct Al, it is another one of Lee's creations. It's engine is a modified BMW V8 from the previous M5
