Finally some pics of my 997C2
Thanks to everyone on this board, I couldn't have gotten throught the last nine months of waiting without rennteam.com
Here's some first pics:
This is the first thing I see when I open the door to the garage
That's Yogi 'guarding his master's new toy'...
Looks like I need to lower it, or get 19's??
Sport wheel-must have
There really is NO SUBSTITUTE
As you can tell, nothing out of the ordinary. In fact this must be the most lightly optioned 911 of all time:
CarreraC2
Arctic/black std. interior
Short shifter
Sport seats
Xenons
Center console in exterior color
To make a long story semi-short on why such a short list; I originally started out on a budget of 50K. Plus I plan on keeping it for at least four years. I also will put quite a few miles on it per year, so purchasing was the only way to go for me. I also never was into the leasing thing.
When I decided to pony up the extra cash, I originally ordered a Boxster S (2/14/05). Awesome car in its own right but I've always wanted a Porsche 911 (even before I got my driver's license 25 years ago). The following week I wound up test driving a 996 (salesman warned me I will not want the 987 after the test drive- he was right!).
So I figured what the hell!! I broke the piggy bank (more like shattered it) and went for my dream car! It's not the fully loaded 'S' that I wish for, but hey I a few years who knows, hopefully it'll be a TT
So far so great. Had the clear bra installed and I love it. I also spent $400+ at Griot's (thanks Stradale-tu culpa! ) I'm so looking forward to keeping her nice and shiny.
The H&R spacers I ordered last week arrived today; I want to get them installed soon as possible. But where? Should I lower it? I'm afraid of making the ride too stiff, and getting squeaks a creaking noises. Should I do it anyway?
Ok, I'm rambling now; I'm just so happy that the ordering process is behind me and the journey I've waited for so long can finally begin! Thanks for letting me share; I'll post better pics from more scenic locations soon.
Ok, that's it....I'm headed back into the garage. I miss my Carrera! Going for another driving session to practice my heel/toe technique
Staying below 4200rpm is KILLING me!!
