Age 39, started this madness fifteen cars ago with an MG Midget at age 17.

71! My hx includes three Porsches since 1968 (my first with six webers - last of the carb P's) - and now after assorted Chevy's, Mercs, Beemers, Jags, (and must admit to a Corvette as well) - am awaiting a 997 S....as a porschephile friend once said, "If you can - then you must!"

Same B D =8/25====56. Ordered my CS coupe on BD. Just told it will be here on Friday.. Weather may hold out for a few days and then ,into storage.
Average age appears to be approx. 40... But, is an internet sample.. I suspect the full demographic age profile is closer to 50. With 85% male. Married with grown kids,,,or,in high school/college
. Would be interesting to have other data...incomes, geographies, types of jobs, number of times P drivers have sex per week, etc.

I tallied the responses, including Grant's father (age 70) and Jake Kaufmann (who's the oldest at 71). I included those who have placed a firm order (including myself) and their respective age when they anticipate delivery of the car.
I tried to eliminate any duplicates and could not include at least one that appeared ridiculous (one listing 97 as the age - if this is true, I apologize in advance - you should be in the Porsche records book).
There are 166 responses so far, as of 4 November 2005. The mean (or average) age is 38.8 years, with a standard deviation of 11.06 years. With one standard deviation on each side of the mean, 2/3 rd's of the total responses (about 111) are in the 27.7 - 49.9 age bracket.
The minimum age of an owner is 18, the maximum age is 71. Here are the numbers for the following age brackets: under age 21, 6 ; 21-30, 28 ; 31-40, 68 ; 41-50, 37 ; 51-60, 21 ; 61-70, 5 ; and over 70, 1 .
Hope that satisfies the curious for a while.

First and only Porsche so far is my 914 1.8 which I bought when I was 19. It happens to be my first car as well.
I absolutely love my 914 but I want something a newer and quicker. I haven't really sorted out what I want to do for the rest of my life and my current job doesn't pay too well. Hopefully I will get that figured out soon enough and get on track for a new Porsche Any suggestions?

I ordered my 1st Porsche in June 1997 (Arena Red 986 (Boxster)) and got it 9 months latter (that was the wait back then). I was 30 when I picked it up. It was a sad day when the lease expired and I decided to give it up (It was a stupid lease where I could buy it for Blue book plus 5%, never making that mistake again though I was tempted to buy it anyways).
Well 3 kids latter (and perhaps 10 pounds as well), I 'convinced' my wife that I need 'rear' seats to carry the kids so I 'needed' the 997 as the Boxster just won't do. It certainly does help that my two boys (5 and 3) are absolutely car crazy and it would really kill them if they could not sit in dad's car. So I am anxiously waiting (Nov build) on a Atlas Grey/Natural Grey Cab S (I had to get a cab after the boxster). I am 38 now. (Darn am I past middle age?)
