    Vanity Tags

    Do you guys use vanity tags?

    Is there a process (besides calling the MVA) in attempting to find specific vanity tags?

    Is there a market for "elite" vanity tags?


    I'm just asking because I'm thinking about something clever for my mini, but I don't really know how to go about it. Only one of my friends has a vanity and he got it through a hookup (B8B8B8B8 to "confuse cops" when he speeds away in his M3).

    Thoughts? Comments?

    You can go online to your state DMV (at least here in NY) and check what ones are avalible and order them...

    Maybe you can in Lawn Guyland but not here in Florida. We have to submit an application with up to five choices and then hope. OTOH, we can order any of 100 (exact count) special backround themes. These themes are for various colleges, sports teams, wildlife or social/political statements. The backround colors and pictures are all different and you can pick one that goes well with the color of your car. In fact, you can petition the state to issue a new theme. The state will survey 2,401 people and, if they think they'll eventually sell 30,000 of the requested license plate statewide, they'll issue plates with the theme of your choice.

    I have a vanity plate on my 914 (914 GT) In some areas there is a market for vanity plates. The UK is crazy and I believe "F1" sold earlier this year for many HUNDREDS of thousand dollars. In N.A. prices are less, but I've heard of people paying a few thousand (or buying a really crappy car with a wanted plate for way more than it is worth)
