SLR

Got my so called cocoon from the SLR community today with my personal log in code to their website.

Nothing of special interest on the website.
Very nice design though.

Only one video,same as the first one you could see on the Mercedes website.
No sound files.
I was hoping that you could see the video with Klaus Ludwig on the Nurburgring,you know the one they showed to the public on four screens at the Frankfurt show.

I wasn't unable to attend, so what is the SLR community thing all about? What do u get exlsuively that is better? Sorry to keep bothering, but will you finally order the SLR after your "disappointing" test drive...?

The SLR Community includes all those who have made a downpayment of Euro 50.000 for the SLR which of course is refundable if one should decide against placing a binding order.
Some of those in the SLR Community were invited to Barcelona for the testdrive.
An invitation to the Frankfurt show was sent out to all Community members were they had a special SLR lounge were you could see the car in privacy.

I have already decided to cancel my order for the following reasons.
Comparatively high price for a GT car.
The weight of the car: 1768 kg*
(EC 90% tank,7 kg equipment and 68 kg driver)
I wasn't totally satisfied with the design either especially for a car in that pricerange.

Bilal, you get a username and password, only for potential SLR customers I guess.

I also think that CF did the right thing, the SLR is way too heavy.

you weren't going to get the SLR AND the CGT were you? if not, i can't imagine chosing that pig (with an auto no less) over the CGT.

Initially I wanted both of them but after having testdriven the SLR and heard the final price I made the decision to cancel the order for the SLR.
The choice was never about which car but if I was going to have the SLR as well.
It wasn't even contemplating about getting the SLR instead of the Carrera GT.
