    I got one of the best things from the 80s today

    87 944 Turbo!!! I know its nothing insane but for me its more than enough. I just gotta stay clear of the hp bug that people keep getting bit by.

    The Turbo versions of Porsche cars always had that special fascination...congrats, nice toy.

    hehe thanks guys, I've been wanting this thing for a while now. It will take some time for me to learn its capabilities. I tested the brakes a little, they bite pretty good and have a really linear feel. I couldnt really test the handling because theres a nail in the front left that I need to plug today. But the little things I did do with it, it did with confidence.

    RC, its not a toy so much as my daily driver... but hey, I'll go along with it if you do. :-p

    Ron, I will be going to CC in november keep your eyes open for when I post pics.

    :-p yeps, I think my dad wants to use it as a daily driver while the 36 is being revamped (and he doesnt want to put miles on the 964). I offered to let my friend barrow it but he doesnt have insurence that will cover it so his mom said no (cant blame her)

    I think my dad will fix the 6er up real nice though. Just another project for another time I suppose. And it was a great 1st car. Not too much power but it is also 5spd and I was able to learn a little bit of car control and heel toe down shifting etc.. in it.

    A 944 Turbo that isn't Red? What tha?!

    Looks Great! I love the wheels along with the color combo. Whats the name of that color? Have fun it it. Ive always loved 944's, especially 951's.

    color is "charcoal gray". I like how its low key. It was the color I would prefer and I got lucky in coming across it.

    Very nice car and definately a great choice for still being at the forenoon of your automotive career.

    I do have to admit though that I am not that fond of chrome alloys - they remind me of Mister Columbo's investiagtions in Beverly Hills a decade ago!

    My first Porsche was an '86 Stone Grey 944 Turbo . It was the ultimate " yuppie/DINK sports car " in the mid 80s seen often around Chestnut St in SF or N. Clark St in Chicago as opposed to the slightly more expensive 911, which was sorta known as an old guy's car around that time !

    I will post more pics and car info but for now Im off to the carlsbad meet

    gnil, its got "only" 217hp. I think Im going to go with a driving school before I put more power into it.
