    Should i get the Valentine 1 or not?

    I really want to get a radar detector but just to check with you guys if you guys think that i should. I know radar detector won't do everything for me to avoid cops but i feel more confident with it . If not the V1 what should i get?

    why not get total protection with the Passport SR7 plus Shifters .

    Can you spell "situational awareness?"

    Gotta have the device, even though the cops are very sneaky with their ambushes. At least you won't get nailed by a cop just having his thing on constant-on to desensitize guys with detectors.

    No Brainer: it is an absolute MUST for fancy cars that the cops salivate over when they see them coming.

    Get the arrows. The extra information is sometimes very good to have. Answers questions about location of threat; worth it because it reduces the duration of your "worry" sometimes.

    Actually i was thinking about getting the SR 7 but don't know how to install it so that it looks nice, and i don't know who to go to to get it install. for sure, i am not going to go to CIRCUT City and have them install it there, i don't trust those guys!

    MMD: Ya, i definitely know what you mean, i hate to get a ticket when the cop is being lazy and have the lazer on all time! LOL

    I have two V-1's and would not be without it. Get the Valentine One.

    Have V-1 in every car I've owned over last 8 years. Paid for themselves many times over. Don't leave home without it!

    I have two V1's. In my wife's Z4 and my 997S. I've had Bel, Escort and Vector. The ad is correct. The arrows say it all.

    I have a V1 in my 997 and an 8500 in my Lexus Rx400h. I can say with total confindence that the V1 is the better detector. When the 8500 alerts you have no clue where the signal is coming from. The V1 gets my vote, hand down.

    The only advantage to the 8500 is that you can hook the ZR3 shifters directly to the detector. However, the ZR3 shifter are just an okay product. There are much better laser jammers products on the horizon (ie. the Antilaser).

    Another data point...now that I have a V1 and the arrows, I'd never go back to a detector without directional arrows.

    READ THIS AND TELL ALL YOUR CAR PALS: cordless units are bogus. Only the 12v corded units get sufficient amperage to make their antennas most sensitive. It's a scam because You can't compare cordless to corded ones; in terms of sensitivity, range or advanced warning: there is no comparision.

    The comparision claims in advertisements for cordless models are very carefully crafted and never mention that they are NEVER compared to 12v corded ones.

    You can find out for yourself, the info is on the net, but you have to dig for it.

    V1 without a doubt! It's simply the best and saved me a bundle! I highly recommend it!

    Do not go the Escort route. Once the jammer heads burn out, you have to buy a new system, you can't just replace the lens. Also, the jammer technology is old. Buy a V1 and a Lidatek system. Lidatek, for those who don't know, is a laser jammer. I have both the V1 and the Lidatek and I couldn't be happier with both of them.

    Lots of folks like the V40; when it's professionally installed it's pretty much undetectable.

    If there are any of you remotely close to NY or are willing to take a trip to get something like this installed....custom made V1 integrated in the rear view mirror..I think I've posted this many times on Rennteam before, lol ... let me know if you have any questions

    If you are thinking about the LIDAR (laser) units, perhaps it makes sense to find out if your local cops and state troopers actually OWN laser equipment???

    Or is it better to assume that all the cops have it now and use it routinely?

    I would have it professionally installed, especially if you wanted to hardwire the unit.

    The locals often don't have laser guns, but the highway patrol does.

    Lenny,

    Place is called AI Design in Westchester County (Tuckahoe to be exact). They do SERIOUS stuff, a lot of work for celebrities and VIP's....they specialize in Porsche/Techart too. Ask for Matt Figliola, he's the owner of AI, he's a great guy to deal with. Tell him I sent you. I believe the Valentine 1 integrated alone without any laser jamming would run you $1,000 integrated. Let me know if you have any other questions.
