    anyone here installed the porsche short shifter?

    do you like it? has anyone had it removed after installation?

    tried a 996 c4s with it lately, liked it a lot! much shorter shift than that of my tt. would get it without any doubt

    I did it, and its way better than stock, firmer and shorter not to mention at the track sometime mine would come out of the nylon carrier, I installed my own and it was pretty easy.

    I installed the B&M and it is fantastic. (also cheaper).

    How difficult is the B&M to install on a 2001 Turbo?

    Do they provide good installation instructions with the shifter kit?

    B&M short shifter install

    These are fairly straight forward to install. I researched several "how to's" on the NET and the only thing that was confusing is the positioning of the linkage (Sorry, I can't even describe it). TAKE PICTURES every step of the de-install of the factory kit. LOTS and LOTS of pics with your digicam -- especially the part where some grooves come together. I was supposed to mark where they fit together, but marked at the wrong place. So I went back to my pictures and gauged it from there. Taking a picture at every step of the de-install really helps. That way, you know how it is supposed to look like put back together.

    Once you take apart the original factory kit, it is lost for good, you can't put it back (process involves some cutting of parts that can't be repaired).

    Love the B&M.
