    Boxster sounds- where to get them?

    I'm editing a movie from this weekend's trackday, and I need Boxster sounds.
    I realize that I could just make my own recordings from my own car, but it's hard to push your car as much on the public road as you do on a track - hence the sounds will not match the speed on the movie.
    The season is more or less over, so I wont be able to record my own sounds before next year - so if anyone has a link to nice inboard and outboard Boxster S sounds (986 model), I'd really appreciate it.

    Looks like you hit the brakes too hard Dr. Phil. Your passenger seems to have slid off the seat. Did you disconnect your seatbelt chime? Hey, why'd you delete your face this time?

    there are sounds clips of rorty exhausts there too

    Actually, it's a buddy of mine who's driving the car in this pic, and his son is sitting next to him. He was pretty impossible to scare (the little fella), and kept asking for "more speed! more speed!"

    You bet I got the bug.
    I'm actually thinking about getting me a pure track car - perhaps even selling my daily drive and getting a 986s, 987s or Cayman and have it set up for the track.
    Buuut, I'll probably miss old Boxey on weekdays, so that may not be the solution. damn thing is I love driving the car evreyday, and I love tracking it. Tracking it will just end up costing me a fortune in brakes and tires, so I need another solution. Perhaps go-karting or getting a LoCost might be the solution...
    Suggestions are welcome.

    Dont really have a fabolous write-up up my sleeve, but I'll put down a few comments and then post some of the 500+ pics that were taken that day.
    It was a pure Porsche festival. I tell you. GT2, GT3, GT3RS, Carrera RS, 997, 996, 986...you name it. And to top it all off an awesome Beemer 3-something CSL!
    Got piccies of them all.

    I've got a VHS recording of Tiff Needell blatting a 986 s round a race track, sounds fab, but I am not clever enough to "digitise" it for you, unfortunately Also it's PAL SECAM, is that compatible with your format in Denmark - I'm happy to send the tape to you, but would like it back, somewhen!

    OH, that sounds great! I'm wondering if that recording you have is the old test of the 986 versus the Z4? That one is available for download and I think I already have it.
    Trouble is the sound quality isnt very good, and old Tiffy is babbling on constantly - messing up the engine sound

    I might take you up on it (and yes, we use the same video system here - and I believe I have an NTSC/PAL switchable VHS player.)
    You can easily transfer VHS to digital.
    Do you have a digital video camera? If so, just connect it to your VHS player, make a LINE recording and voila!

    No, it's just Boxster S. No comparison with anything else. And, no, unfortunately I don't have a digital video camera, unfortunately.

    Tim, did Tiff do this test in a Fifth Gear show or some other televised (downloadable) program?
    Or is it something you filmed yourself on a track?

    No I recorded it off TV, the original one wasn't very good, and on a repeat they had taken off all the silly background music and the Boxster sounds were really good. Not much, if any commentary if I recall. It was a sports car special, with Tiff, VBH and I forget who else choosing various sports cars whittled down to their favourite choice which was the Boxster. Short bit with Quentin Wilson about how sensible a buy a second hand Boxster is and ended with Tiff blatting it round a race track. Think I taped the repeat off Sky.

    Hey Dr.Phil you might wanna check out for those little 914s, quite a lot of them can be seen on racingtracks and i've only heard psoitive stories about them. they are so much fun and do not cost you a fortune!

    Thanks a bunch for the link. Tiff talks an awful lot and the engine sounds a bit tame, but I might be able to use bits here and there!
