    A reason for Bose

    If you don't get it, then you don't get a 12v socket in the front passenger side in 06 models.

    eddie, sorry but that is not correct. All 06s and 05s have the socket on the pax footwell. I have it on my 06 and I don't have Bose.

    Another reason is resale value which is probably a lot better with Bose. I usually put in aftermarket systems in my cars but didn't want to do that with this car, so I opted for Bose. It's by no means perfect. Hell, it's not even a great system (well, it's Bose, so that says it all). I will say that's it is decent though. I have not listened to the base stereo to compare however.

    But where is mine then!! I also checked the manual, and it says its only fitted when you have Bose. I wish I was wrong, as I want to trail my V1 from the passenger side.

    You can always hardwire the V1....

    Thaks. I have sent my V1 to get updated, and will then arrange for that.

    eddie, do you have the auto dimming mirror? If so, you can hardwire the V1 using my instructions here:

    Thanks 1080iAddict - I wish. I had the auto dimming mirrors before and did not think that much of them. Then I saw your post - and it was too late!

    I'm confused now. I definetelly have the pax footwell socket but no Bose. Another one of Porsches uniqueness. Are you sure you are cheking in the right spot? the outlet is a bit down there the footwell and it can't be seen, easily at least, from the driver's side.

    But where is mine then!! I also checked the manual, and it says its only fitted when you have Bose. I wish I was wrong, as I want to trail my V1 from the passenger side.

    here's a reason for optimism: regardless of "Bose/No Bose" the wiring harness probably has the terminals in place for the socket though they "forgot" to put the socket in. Just pry off that panel in the pass wheel well and take a look (they should just snap off (that is, "snap" in a good way )

    Not worth the money, only pro is the total integration in the pcm... otherwise, aftermarket can do better for the same price or less
