Shame on Porsche to have killed one of the main USPs of the GT3 RS by producing something between 5 and 10,000 units vs. 1,800 on previous generations.

I have had four GT cars (997 GT3, 997 and 991 GT3 RS, GT4) but I now move to Mc Laren with a 675 LT where the exclusivity is guaranteed.

And I am not the only one being disappointed by this Porsche/VW policy and moving to McL.

Kudos to Porsche for building enough cars to fill the demand and weeding out the leeches who just want to selfishly drive a free car.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

I didn't think they were still building these. I guess right up until .2 GT3 comes out. Glad to see people get cars and any speculators crushed.

I don't have a problem with people driving for free. I have a problem with people flipping and taking allocation from people who wanted them and deserved them at MSRP. Fuck flippers.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

I was offered an allocation and turned it down. I waiting for the .2GT3RS and will take a.2GT3 until the RS is offered.

The market is  different then in  the past . With the 997.1 or 997.2, prices have never been above list price for second hand ones . The 991 is  today still above list price , even with the huge production numbers .

    RC,

Nobody  puts doubts on you 😇

I think this is good lessons for speculators ,but on the other hand the speech from Porsche about the exclusive car was really bad.

they will have the produced 3x more RS than standard GT3!

the gt3 price will nevertheless go down as well as the motor looks particularly fragile .....

I m really looking forward to my mark II!

by the way, any news ? Hp ? Time ? 😱

Thanks to all of you for this excellent forum, except when we divert heavily on white gt4 or Audi which number ? Oh yes R8😏👮‍♀️

Porsche do it better than McLaren for now.

They milk and please the happy VIP few (918, R, coming .2 GT3 limited edition...) with exclusiv limited version.

And they milk the mass of others/pigeons/wannabe with unlimited numbers of GT3RS and .2 GT3.

McLaren is selling well to the happy few only their exclusiv version that are selling like hot cakes and dont milk enough pigeons for the standard ones.

Porsche had always , in the past, special/limited production models , just there was not the hype around them like you witness today .  I remember I could buy a Sport Classic with a 5% discount back in time (the same for the RS 4.0). Today, maybe too many  see those cars as investment grade assets before looking at them as the great sport cars they are.  Honestly who cares if there are 6000 or 2000 991 GT3 RS , it still remains a fantastic car. If your primary intent is to treat it as an asset class  then I understand that exclusivity (read low production numbers) is high on the priority list.  I do not know McLaren so I cannot comment, but one is a boutique manufacturer the other is a 200,000 units + industrial giant as such they have different levels of flexibility in addressing niches in their product portfolio.

I feel pretty sure that there is another NA RS coming for 991.2 generation.  Not sure if it may only be a limited edition version for the 918 owners though (seems like the build window will be very narrow and impossible to repeat the high production numbers of the current RS).

A 991.2 GT3 RS isn't excluded but the 991.2 GT3 is a sure thing and probably the best offer (from a price/performance point of view). You can't go wrong with the new 991.2 GT3 but since Porsche improved the PDK-S again, I would think twice about getting manual. angry

agree, I will get it in manual no matter what PDK they put in.

if PDK only, I will not even consider buying it at all.

Well if there is a GT2RS then maybe the GT3RS doesn't make sense...

Indeed Porsche is very very smart, the limited editions are now the R and such and the GTx are just money makers that everyone can buy.
