    Carrera GT.

    When Auto Motor und Sport did the report about the Enzo,Gallardo and the Carrera GT on the Ring they asked the drivers if they could do a lap with them as co-pilots.
    The drivers from Ferrari and Lamborghini responded that they were not allowed do that.
    Walter Röhrl said of course,lets go for a lap.
    They set up the camera inside the car and went out for a lap.
    Walter did the lap on 7.37 with no real effort.
    Just imagine the reporters face when he stepped out of the car.

    I hope that Auto Motor und Sport will release the video for sale.
    It will be a sure winner.

    i hope the comparison to the other two cars was without the extra passenger weight though!

    You misunderstood me.
    The drivers from Ferrari and Lamborghini weren't allowed to drive around the track at all.
    The policy from Ferrari and Lamborghini is don't do it if you know you are going to loose.
    The measurement of the Carrera GT was with the reporter inside the car and they only did one single lap.

    Are there any documented lap times, for comparison, in this arcticle? That's what everybody wants to know; which one

    The only car that went around the track was the Carrera GT.
    What I wrote in my post wasn't in the article at all.
    It was told to me by a Porsche employee.
    I guess that the Gallardo has made some laps around the Ring during development but I don't know the lap times,probably in the range of 8.03-8.06.
    What I do know is that the Carrera GT is faster than the Enzo,a couple of seconds.
    Porsche had the Enzo for one week during the development of the Carrera GT,they did all kinds of comparison testing.
    They drove both cars extensively on a track similar to the Hockenheim Race track to see which car had the best handling and no matter how hard Walter Röhrl tried he couldn't drive faster with the Enzo.
    So if the Carrera GT is faster on a real race track like Hockenheim which is the ideal track for the Enzo there is no chance what so ever that the Enzo is faster on the Ring.
    Ferrari will never allow the magazine Sport Auto to do a Supertest of the Enzo.
