I wouldn't recommend a GT3RS as an everyday commuter IMO. It's a nice track toy though, but I wouldn't enjoy driving one everyday on our roads. Same class car as my Noble, I'll use once in a while, plus the GT3RS is really hard to resell(especially here), my friend has had his in the porsche showroom on consignment for months. Rather get a used 996 TT for much less

I know the TT is a much better everyday car, but I dont really like the 996 version - prefer the 993.
I never really thought the RS would be hard to resell here, cause at track events and shows this car usually gets lots of positive attention. Do you have any driving experiences Mike??

yup, went to my usual showroom to look at cars and the salesman had a RS there with aftermarket pipes with sit in the center (like the Cooper S) was the loudest porsche I have ever heard!!! very nice car, but i was disappointed with the cars acceleration. You have pick up a nice 993 Turbo for R900,000 +- with reasonable mileage on. which is even cheaper than the 996 turbo

Those cars are really awesome. A couple of weeks ago I was on the N1 when I drove up to one of these. When the guy saw me he just accelerated away and I could feel the bass of the exhaust in my chest!! It really is a nice car but obviously will have many flaws as a DD.
Love it with the blue paint BTW + the interiors not that bad also. Was checking it out at our Porsche Centre just yesterday and was expecting a really stripped out car, but it really was not that bad. Same like a 'normal' GT3 actually(fascia)
Seriously Mike, you were dissapionted with acceleration?? Then again, you're used to SL65, SL55, Noble, ContinentalGT and the like so maybe whats disapointing for you will be OH [censored] for me

like i said it's a nice track toy(like the noble) but i would take the noble over that for obvious reasons
mainly the price, R1,500,000+- for a USED RS is too much for it, would rather get the standard GT3, it's also cheaper. plus the badge on the front bonnet is a STICKER! 
yeah, the acceleration was not bad, but not brilliant either... specially for +400hp (the one i was in was a bit modded) car. but i will take into consideration i'm 4000ft above sea level(which greatly affects normally aspirated cars) and all my cars up here have forced induction(except for the carrera and x5!)
