I voted Cocoa.
I live in Southern California where the climate is sunny and warm most of the year, and I went with Arctic Silver/Black. I've always wanted that combo (never had it), and I also chose that combo for 'traditional'(and personal) reasons.
My second choice for silver (if I was able to afford it) would've been Cocoa

That's a tough one. My 997S is Arctic Silver with black interior, and it was hard for me to accept having black especially because I visit Arizona twice a year. 
But I was re-assured that the new cars have COOOOOOOLD air conditioning and no matter how hot it gets, it'll cool down inside within 5 minutes.
So I guess I'm saying that don't let the warm climate steer you away from black interior. The AC more than makes up for a warm interior. I've now realized that inside my 997S.
Glad I went with the black interior after all.

Black or very dark. IMO, this 997 interior is toooooooo bizzy to have lighter colors which show all the "kerf" lines between all the panels and shapes and speaker grilles and other styling lines and reiterations that is the 997 interior.
Compare a black with a grey and see the bizzzzzyness for yourself.

The black looks great with all the silver accent pieces in the interior. I got the full leather and it looks very nice. I was also concerned about a black interior in a convertible car, but I drove it all summer long here in California and never noticed that it was extra hot. My last cab had the savannah beige interior. Once the temperature exceeds 100 degrees I tend to put the top up and take advantage of the air conditioner.

I'm getting a bit of emotion towards black.
The non-leather dash looks alot better than I expected. I was a bit worried before delivery since I had only seen it once and then very briefly. I had the car for five minutes and realized it looks really really good as a matter of fact. Mine's in black so I can't speak for the lighter colors.
I would have chosen grey interior in my 997S if the interior were a design and styling "masterpiece." I thought the E46 BMW (2004M3) interior was good enough so I ordered mine in grey. THAT means you think the interior design is WORTH accentuating when you order in lighter colors.
Silver with grey interior? NOT a concern at all; a non-issue. Why? Neither of then are "colors" so there's zero chance of a clash.

I voted cocoa because I have it on my car. Its a very classy colour and I got nothing but praise on my choice from everybody. Well worth the extra cash IMO.
For your info I found the 997 a/c very good during KSA famous summer time. You can safely pick any colour you want, the a/c will handle it with no ploblems. It will even performe better if you add V-Cool to your windows. Good luck on your purchase

I must ask why terracotta isn't on your list. I am VERY happy with my Arctic Silver over Black 987S, but I think terracotta is still the most striking color. If you haven't seen it in person you cannot understand how cool it really is. There's a CGT in GT silver with terracotta at my dealer, and it is simply inspired. So although it's not on the list, I'd vote for terracotta!

Black for sure. As stated is sets off the accents of the interior the best and looks great with silver. I have a cab with black interior and in summer the temp here averages 100 degrees. I have had no problems with the interior heat at all. If you are hesitant about black because of the temp don't worry but if you don't like the look of black that's a different story. I would choose cooca in that case.

The best color would probably be Stone....it would be a little boring though.
I've got Sea Blue coming in my Cayman S.....beautiful color especially with Arctic. There is a 997 Cab at my dealer....Arctic / Sea Blue.....it is very classy looking and different at the same time.

My top preference would have been Cocoa. However, I will not allow the marketing machine in Porsche to charge me a $1380 premium on the same commodity with a different colour.
That leaves the remaining 'dark' colours as suggested by most participants.
1. Sea Blue: while really special, and has won the largest number of votes as well, but reminds me of college, and I hated those long walks in simmering hear (over 50 degrees). That was 15 years ago, but still irritates me. So I will subjectively discard Sea Blue.
2. Black: this was the least expected choice. Note that I didn't even include it in the poll. But the praise I read about the air-conditioning changed my mind.
As for the light colours (Grey, Terracotta), there have been arguments against them. So I'll go along with that.

Sea blue is ocean blue, isn't it? I've got arctic silver / ocean blue on my 987 and I reckon its the only colour to have with arctic - greys and black make the whole scheme too monochrome. I can't stand cocoa - but colours are a very personal choice, go with what you like, not what others think. You'll end up getting something you may not like if you just go with what the majority think!
