GT4RS is not that loud… nor is it as stiff as some state… and the LWBs are not a big deal either… but I do wish it had the larger fuel tank as an option

Have you been able to drive now extensively ? How do you like it ?
I do have the larger fuel tank on mine.

I like it a lot. It is the closest a car has gotten to the feeling of a sport bike. PDK in manual mode shifts a little more slowly than I expected. It’s notably slower than the Evo’s transmission at lower temperatures, similar when warm. Maybe it’s a software issue while the transmission is reaching operating temperature. Compared to the Evo RWD, the GT4RS has noticeably less torque, but the suspension is much more stable, even though the Lambo has a wishbone setup. I feel very confident adjusting the GT4RS with the throttle or the steering on tight curvy roads. I really enjoy it’s “one generation ago” instruments, switches and center console. The tablet in the Lambo, and all the fake “off throttle” popping is annoying after a few weeks. I never hear that with the GT4RS. In practical terms, I’m not sure how useful the FAL truly is - I don’t need it if I’m careful, and it can’t clear poorly designed curbs anyway.

i must admit though that when my Spyder RS arrives I’ll probably let the GT4RS go back to my dealer. The backroad driving I do is better suited to the Spyder I think. The GT4RS is a great car, but I really love convertibles… I’ve asked my Lambo dealer about the Revuelto roadster, but it’s mass concerns me. I’m curious about the 812GTS, but some elements of the design are weak (that black space where a quarter window would normally go), and I just don’t like the whole Ferrari game…

Gauss: I am jealous. Would love to try the new section. For the moment I am booked only for September.
My car will come out of hibernation next week.
The suspension Manthey Kit is still on my mind …. But rationals keep me from doing it. Maybe once I ll know if my car will be a forever keeper, then I might reconsider.
That new curb is a bit crazy. I would not want to hit it coming up full speed.

Also if you sell it to me, one day, I would prefer it WITH the suspension kit. So what's stopping. you? SmileySmiley

I’ll keep that in mind 😁  You can also probably still find an allocation

Very interesting coming from someone owning the other much more expensive mid engined « fun » sports cars.
Confirms what most of us think about the 4RS. Modern old school with chassis and engine pushed to the max but still usable on public roads providing tremendous fun and sensations.
I am not an open top guy, but  I do think the spyder will add another layer of pleasure and make it the best car for country roads.

That looks awesome. Any way to get a transparent cover that works? Would like to have that exposed to the outside world

Would be very interesting with a transparent cover. The intake is a piece of art Smiley

I wonder what that ''tweeter '' looking thing in the middle does exactly . Would imagine it is some kind of a sound enhancer .

    Re: GT4RS

With the advent of EV, we may see more of this type of set up but with artificial sound.

    Re: GT4RS

Gnil, you have created a quandary for me. This CF air box is the best design element of any modern Porsche since the fascia covering the engine bay and exhaust ports of the 918. And I don’t see something like it being built by Porsche in the future due to rear engine and EV issues. Is it crazy to keep the GT4RS just for this? Maybe I’ll give up the S cab after all…

When I consider the oblong piece below the butterfly, I think it is there to create negative interference for the dominant frequencies generated at RPM for typical road speeds. This way you do not have resonances at slower driving speeds. This is merely my speculation based on its cross sectional and vertical profile.
