    And why is it that "twisty" roads must always come into the equation? It's like saying "Oh um... your pe**s bigger than mine, BUT it's more how you use it that counts", bottom line, bigger is bigger who cares if you know how to use it or not. In urban driving, hardly any of the roads are twisty. So who gives a crap if the 987 might be able to pull away from the 65 on a "twisty" road

    in the end, the each one has it's pro's and con's. all i'm saying is neither can be compared to as being better as the other, each is better or worse in different situations

    which care (997 or SL55) is a better looking car?

    i live in sydney, and my friend own SL55 and his brother own 997 S. he said the SL turns heads much much more than the porshce.

    and a question for those who live in the states. are SL really a common sight ovr thr? im moving to the states next year and im thinkin of gettin either 997 S cab or the SL55.. definetely dun wanna buy something thats too common.

    Why don't you buy what you like , rather than what others might think about your purchase, or what you might look like in it....

    Over here you see as many Sl as Golf...no head turner unless it's an AMG

    I can't speak for all of the States, but here in Southern California it seems that almost every other car is a 2004 to 2005 SL500 or SL55. Porsche's are farily common as well, but I would say for every new 987/997 there are at least 3 new SL's. They are everywhere here.

    Well I have a SLK32 and think what you like, but in 2002 it was the fastest production benz ever made and its a hoot to drive. Rocket ship acceleration! 0-140mph in 22 seconds. Sure there are faster cars, but they all cost a bunch more money and as for the SL...just too heavy.

    Beware...Porsche may be soon making "Jetta's". What's that gonna do to your image? If thats not a snooze than I don't know what is. Isn't VW going to make the body on the new 4 door Porsche...I mean VW?
