    MMD,
Your always complaining about something . Are you really a woman?

Isn't the politically correct term "transgender" in this context? The women's rights groups surely demarcate their turf very carefully vs the transgender rights groups.....

Of course someone from SF would invoke the transgender thing. That topic is best left to the British Lancia Owners club or the "unusual" F car owners in the Castro...

Nonsense aside, I know one woman, single, friendly , who owns not one, but TWO Porsches.

One is a 93 964 coupe, the other is a 997 cab. Unlike MMD, she has no complaints about them and drives one or the other daily. I can assure you she is a genetic woman.

Was joking about radar on I-5...thought CHP does use radar as part of its sporadic speed crackdowns...
Given how a few SF/LA fwys actually often move at rather "brisk" paces (despite the mythical reputation of unending traffic jams and speed enforcement ), it's easy stuff for CHP to pick off egregious/truly dangerous speeders vs sports cars being exercised responsibly....

CHP has radar that detects front and rear in patrol vehicles uBoat.. it's the municipal departments that use the handhelds and laser units.. and speed traps have been gone a long long time in CA due to legality issues.. but standard radar and laser is alive and well

Re: 997S on a long boring drive. Did I chose the wrong car!?

I think you're right, MMD : this is not a car for you !
Sell it back and drive your BM, you're not crazy enough to keep this noisy and uncomfortable 100000 $ car !
I am (crazy enough) ... and I enjoy it every day...Sorry.

Nah, I drove it yesterday and enjoyed myself. why? I FELT like driving and the roads were uncrowded and scenic.

It's a sports car , right? Sometimes I don't feel very sporting. Sometimes, when conditions suck I just want to get the job done, you know?

Besides with all that road input from the fantastic features of this car: why would you want that everyday?

It's a bit absurd, no? I figure all that driver and car input and feedback would be a requirement for going over 100mph on the Autobahn. In the USA it's just a toy-thing, a recreation, like sports. Nothing wrong with that.

    Re: Perhaps...

What a thread, daily driving and transexuality all in one place! Never mix the mundane and the exhilarating because the low inevitably drags down the high. It's a fact of life. The car is awesome, your venue deadly. Change venue not car. Get second car for daily driving (BMW or Mercedes will suit). A hand me down 380SL is my daily driver, and if I try to drive it like a Porsche there are many unexpected thrills to be had even on the way to the grocery!

Re: 997S on a long boring drive. Did I chose the wrong car!?

CHP also use planes on stretchs of one oh one (Santa Maria area) they got me. About 5 CHP cars were lined up on a small side road as I rounded a corner heading south from SLO. I slowed immediately as soon as I saw them, and one guy pulled in behind me and nailed me. He had the ticket half written by the time he got to the car. I asked him how got a clock on me. He said, "I didn't, but he did" as he was pointing skyward.
