Difference in price with Canada and the US
I knew that Porsche was gouging us poor canadians, but just going through the car configurator I can see just how much.
I optioned the car as I would like it. Well optioned but not really over the top (slate grey/terracotta, PASM, Sport Chrono, Xenons, manual sports seats with painted backs and some trim upgrades)
Base price in the US - $58,900 and with options $80,165
Price in Canada (in USD) - $71,676 with options $97,971
That's a $12,776 price gouge over the current exchange rate and a WHOPPING $17,806 gouge after options. In canadian dollars the car is base $83,900 and with the options came out to $114,680 !!!!! That's $10,000 MORE than a 997 and only $4,000 less than a base 997S!!!
For that price you can get one of a handful of 2001 996 turbos for sale in Toronto. I know I would be shocked, but nowhere near this shocked...
