    Service intervals & cost for F430?

    I was wondering if the service intervals are longer and service cheaper now that the F430 uses cam chains (like Porsche) rather than belts which required frequent and costly services?

    My car is finally (7 weeks from end of production) arriving at the dealership early next week, I'll post the info when I get the manuals.

    tdf360 so you sell the 360 and get the 430 , (looks like many 360's for sale ) ... how long ago did you order your 430 and are you having to pay over sticker ? (also is it spider or coupe ) congratulations .

    Sold the 360 a few weeks ago. I specced the 430 (coupe) in April, will take delivery tomorrow or Thursday. Of course I've been on the list for some time. Paid MSRP.

    I just picked up the manuals and the service intervals are unchanged from the 360...5k, 15k, 30k, etc. And annual oil and filter change at a minimum. Obviously no belt change so overall service costs should be lower than the 360.

    Hi Gary!

    I might be looking at a 430 in the near future and I'd like to know about some aspects of its reliability. Can the car handle prolonged periods of top speed driving? I'm asking this because the Enzo can not. Furthermore, would you trust its reliability in a long-distance race, such as the Gumball?

    I have to admit I don't know the answer. That's not the kind of driving I ever did with my 360. I'm surprised to hear the Enzo is not suitable. What's the source?

    I find it very strange that ANY car would have a problem with prolonged top speed driving, assuming that it can be flogged hard on a road course repeatedly without a problem (as the Ferraris seem to handle). An engine running near redline at top speed gets ALOT more cooling than one run near redline, going through the gears, and running at lower speeds. I can imagine that the tires might protest at some point...

    It was mentioned either here or on 6speedonline, that one of the Enzos actually overheated during a sustained top speed or near top speed run, melting the engine cover in the process. There were actually pictures attached which clearly showed the melted surface. I'll try to find them again.
