help. service comes back with big repair bill
ive just had my boxster serviced and am surprised to get a long list of faults and a 3k plus bill. Im very surprised as at last service there was hardly any faults and i dont exactly thrash the car or do lots of miles.
Does anybody know of any cheaper repair centres in the London/essex area to get this work done

please find listed below our report on your car, in no particular order:
1/ oil leak on back of engine, reported at last service,now worse and dripping oil onto the undertrays. gearbox removal required to fix: @ Pounds1067.00 to fix. would recommend replacement of clutch also whilst
the gearbox is removed. parts only, no extra labour Pounds280.00 as opposed to Pounds1000 to do the job at a later date
2/ front wipers poor in operation Pounds25.00
3/ both front headlamp reflectors full with condensation Pounds92.74 for the pair
4/ softop creaks,and adjsutments Pounds84.60
5/ rear suspension squeaking. we have roadtested the car with listening probes attatched, and can confirm that the drivers rear suspension control arm is worn out and the drivers rear exhaust catalyst is
rattling due to it breaking up internally. Pounds308.70 to drop the rear axle to replace the arm. Pounds282.00 to carry out a steering and suspension alignment because of it being disconnected. the catalyst costs Pounds825.27 to
replace.
6/ both front and rear brake discs heavily lipped and worn. brake pads are only half worn so would recommend only replacing the discs when the pads wear out
7/ brake fluid change due every 2 years. was last done in 2003. Pounds141.14
8/ armrest lid broken. reported last service
9/ with regards to the juddering under acceleration , we have found all six ignition coils to be breaking up. Pounds215.24 parts only price. no fitting charge whilst car is being serviced
all prices include parts , labour and VAT
