ferrari-porsche the difference at the IAA

At the frankfurt show the difference between the 2 brands couldn't be better explained then by this pics...
You may not touch the ferrari's since they are behind the fence..So show the ferrari girls stylish clothing, can't smile and are untouchable...
At porsche's, no fences, girls in a racesuit and smiling, and friendly...

So far: conclusion: ferrari: more exclusive and for the bigger budgets available;
porsche: more accesible, sporty, frienly and funfactor on top

Should we turn this into a poll, who's got a "Ferrari", who's got a "Porsche", who wanted a Ferrari but got a Porsche instead, vice-versa, who's still looking for a Ferrari, etc?

My vote is with Porsche for both, prefer to enjoy every day whatever the weather than have one sulking in the garage at the slight chance of bad weather

Out of interest I have heard that both the Lancia's and Alfa's looked lovely. Probably temperamental though...

Agreed. At the New York Auto show in April my salesman was at the Ferrari area which was roped off. He saw me and asked me and my family to come in. Spent a while taking pictures like the one below without having to fight a crowd around the cars. It was like the feeling you get when you're asked by the bouncer you know outside a hot night club to walk right in passed everyone waiting in line and trying to get in.

The girls are easy to get the car is what is back ordered .

STRADALE there you go posting 430 pictures just when I start to get it out of my mind . That silver color is incrediable would love to see that on a Spider . What a beautiful car

That's what i meant:
At porsche's everyone could feel, touch and smell the cars on the inside.
At ferrari's you have to own one or look very whealthy to get in...
(btw, at brussels show porsches plays the same game...so far, the differences are not that big...

Ferrari employees are notorious for their 'I'm better than you 'cos I work for Ferrari' attitude. Porsche are way more friendly IMO.

I noticed the same at the Chicago Auto Show last February. The Porsches were unlocked and anybody could climb in any car (except the CGT). My wife did, liked it, and now we'll be buying one next year. Additionally the salesman answered our questions, popped the trunk and ballparked cost of ownership issues (though perhaps being more concerned about the trunk size than 0-100 times shows a level of seriousness).

Score one for the open door policy.

well considering the number of F430's ferrari have sold, it's only a fraction of what Porsche have sold in 997's alone. plus that porsches are much more affordable to more of the public it makes more sense to let everyone have a look and feel of the car. and those cars that are open to the public are abused really bad, foot marks all over the side of the doors, possible scratches, dents, hand prints all over them etc. now can you picture a ferrari or lambo in that same scenario...

Good point about Brussels - the fact that Porsche is a German car plays an important role in Frankfurt. ps. The blue Cayman S looked great in real.
