    Impressive times ....... but that' s it . This car does not make any emotions in me . I have seen some drive around . In darker colors the car looks better then in photos . 

    The 488 is now nearly a  the turbo S ... only AWD missing

    It sounds better than the Turbo S though... Smiley

    If someone wants a super sportscar with a turbo, I think the 488 is the best choice right now in this price category (keep in mind that in some countries, incl. Germany, the 488 is in the Turbo S/Huracan price range).

    Downforce is 205kg @ 200kph.  82/123.  
    Big step up from the 458 which was 32 front lift/31 rear downforce
    The biggest shock to me was the 650s. 2/62kg @ 200kph
    Even the Huracan had more than the the 650s.

    I don't doubt the time of the car, especially if a customerSpeciale on trofeos, with a fat passenger, and taking it easy can do a 7:29.

    That should be a 7:27, as he updated it on another forum.  He claims the telemetry says ideal time is 7:24, while official test drivers says 7:20.

    Benefit of doubt? I think it was quite difficult for Sport Auto to get a 488 GTB testcar officially, so they tried to be nice with Ferrari. Smiley

    TBH, I have no doubt that the times the 488 puts down are legit. If an old Speciale on trofeos, with a fat passenger, and taking it easy, can do a 7:29, then the 488's 7:21 on cup2's isn't that farfetched. The owner claims ferrari told him they did a 7:20 on the ring. Whether that was in real time, or on a sim, we'll never know. But it isn't that hard to believe if he can do a 7:29 while taking it easy, and not being a pro. Then did another run sometime later and updated it to 7:27, as he updated it on another forum, but without video. He claims the telemetry says ideal time is 7:24, while official test drivers says 7:20.

    The problem Salmons tests, are that it seems he generally doesn't know what he's doing.  BayAreaAndy said he spoke to the driver of those 918 vs P1 trofeo test, and he claimed they were no where near as serious as Harris' tests were.  Plus, when you see him testing the ACR, he didn't even take out the wheel fender ventsSmiley, and I doubt he removed them on the RS either.  So he'd probably get the heaviest 488 he can find, on bald tires, then claim it did a lap and lostSmiley.

    But then the lap time was driven by two different magazine drivers (Gebhardt and HvS, who achieved the same time). The car was tested for engine power and suspension setup (as usual in the Supertest). Thus, I would argue that the 488 is indeed (approximately) as quick as these two tests show. It also feels quick (talking of the suspension here). Much better than the suspension of the 650s - which indeed also has far less good lap times. I would expect a good result from the 991.2TTS as well, as it gives you a similar level of comfort as the 488 suspension does. But, of course, the TTS has less engine power which will make it a bit slower.

    I am pretty sure the 488 GTB is very fast. We already had a comparison with my R8 and over 180 kph, the 488 was slowly moving away. So no doubt, the performance is there and personally, I couldn't care less if the 488 does the Nordschleife in 7:22 or 7:32. Smiley I also assume that most 488 have 670 hp or more, the 700 hp are not surprising because this is a turbo charged car and most turbo charged cars usually put out a bit more power.

    No but the new PZero N1 is pretty close to the Cup 2 (seriously) and the Trofeo R is not approved for the Turbo S (not even sure the right tire size is available). The new N1 is amazing, maybe a tad worse in the wet but amazing on the dry. Waiting for the corresponding version from Audi...the R02 (my car has the R01 now, the previous PZero generation).
