    Hard to believe the 4 cars on the left combined do not make as much money for the company as that one 4x4 on the right and the company is a sports car company .

    I like the Caymen front much better as the Carrera. The 997 looks much to much friendly!

    Ocean, Would told you the sportscar business was less profitable than the Cayenne ....

    I don't think it's true, in my estimates I have 60% sportscar (with the bulk coming from the 911) and 40% for the Cayenne ..

    Keep in mind that sales and profits are two different things. There is substantially more profit in every 911 sold than when a Cayenne is sold. EricAlain, do you know the average margin on each Porsche model?

    I don't know the exact number BUT I have a pretty good idea...

    Profitability also depends on the model cycle. For example right now the 997 isn't that profitable because high-end models are not available yet. At the end the 996 was EXTREMELY profitable ... only high end cars and no more depreciations ...

    - Boxster approx 10% Operating margin
    - 911 around 17% (14% for entry level cars and over 23% for high-end)
    - Cayenne around 15% (less than 10% for V6 and above 25% for TT)
    - Carrera GT around 25%
