    OT: Please be carefull

    Morning gents..
    The past weekend I had quite a bad experience. While driving a huge accident happend right in front of me. A young couple (+-25) was driving just ahead of me when some [censored] drove right over a red light and ploughed right into them.
    I obviously pulled over to help + phone for help etc & luckily there were some security guys quite close to where it happend aswell.
    I know you hear about accidents all the time but to see it happen is another thing. The couple werent wearing safety-belts so the guy was thrown right out the car and the girl just crashed against the fascia in front. Before they got into the ambulances, they were both in quite bad shape and I have no idea how they are doing now.

    I know this is way of topic, but guys please be carefull out there. Most of you own/drive powerfull + exotic cars and I'm not saying you musnt enjoy your babies, but please just be carefull. Accidents happen when you least expect it.

    I second that BC. I have seen too many accidents, more than I care to remember. Everyone needs to wear their seatbelts, and also have their children in properly fitting and belted safety seats. I don't mean to preach here, but just picture yourself.. you would never think it would happen to you, you're going through a green light and some [censored] is racing through a red... there's gonna be a split second your life will flash before your eyes, and heaven forbid if your children are in the car and are not properly belted.. or you are not wearing yours... at that moment, you are in the hands of the Big Guy, so be as safe as you can, this forum feels like extended family...

    thats exactly why I just thought I'd share that with you guys.
    Like I Said earlier and what you're also saying: One moment you're driving, thinking what you're gonna do later tonight, next some guy is crashing into you. To see something like that happen right before you is really an eye opener.

    I had the same kind of accident when I was 24 ( in a city , at night). The two people in the other car died, my life was saved due to my safety belt!

    ...and since then, I always( nearly) look around, even when I have priority and lights are green for me. This is also specialy a habbit when driving motorbikes.

    Many years ago I was broadsided by a fellow who ran a red light. Fortunately no one was hurt but the experience leaves one very shaken. The concern that members here have for one another is very encouraging in an often discouraging world.

    I don't get why people don' wear seatbealts. It's literally 2 seconds to buckle the belts.

    I also quickly look left and right when going through a green light - I cycle a lot and it's just not worth the risk.

    Horrible to see such an accident though - really brings it home doesn't it.

    Thanks for reminding us about that issue.

    I almost overlooked a guy on a scooter last week DESPITE being very cautious at an intersection. In fact his headlight was so ridiculously low that I just couldn't see him on that thing - I still felt glad that it ended up luckily!

    Good topic/ advice - reminders are always good in this fast paced world.

    On my way to work the other morning, someone had just hit and ran- after killing a pedestrian. It was early in the morning and still very dark. It happened about 40 minutes before I was to pass by. So please watch out for pedestrians too.

    Back in college I bought a new 93 Saturn SC1 (coupe). About three months later I was broadsided by a red light runner on a rainy day. Car was almost totaled, but they fixed it up and ran great for another 6 years before I sold it to a friend.

    Now I never take for granted that when the light is green I can go, I always look left then right then go.

    To BC997j hope the folks that were injured are doing ok. Hope all is well,
