    To have the PSE on a 997 or 997 S on all of the time do this

    simply disconnect the electrical connector from the vacuum switch. This is the switch that controls the flaps on each muffler. Here is what it looks like. This picture is from a 996 installation, but the switch is identical. Simply push the wire snap on the brown connector, and pull the connector off the switch.

    does anybody know if the connector with the small RED plug is installed with PSE??

    I saw some pics of 997S engine and it doesnt feature the plug with the RED connector

    The vacuum switches used on the 997 and 996 are identical. The color of the electrical connector might be different, but look for a vacuum switch just like the one in the photo. It is next to the power steering tank. Just disconnect that electrical connector and your 997 PSE will be on all of the time.

    thanx Orient Express but i did this from day 1 !

    Question is whether the connector exists in cars without PSE

    No, the connector is not there. The wire harnesses are made to order for each car. So if the car did not have PSE on the factory build sheet, it did not get the PSE wiring harness.

    FYI, installing the PSE wiring for a 997 is light years easier then for a 996. This is because the DME controls the baffles, not a set of analog relays.

    so this red connector was added to my car when i retrofitted PSE.
